a comfort blanket? This could come in any shape or form from a proper blanket to an old t-shirt of his. A while ago Steve gave me his favorite old shirt. At the time he was working on me overcoming a phobia and he explained to a very irrational me (at that time) that this blanket would always give me safety. That he would never hurt me, push me or insist on anything so long as I was wearing or holding on to that shirt. He went on to explain the importance of this comfort blanket and that it must never be used in fun or to taunt him with. I have had it a while now and I have found it not only to be of great comfort to me when he is away with work but has enabled me to be 70% of the way to overcoming a major phobia I have had since childhood. Its not something I would use as a safeword, it holds far too much importance for that but it is something he see's me holding or wearing when I feel emotional or insular. I must just point out that I am not into ageplay, although I can understand that such a thing could be perceived as just that.

m'Lady has her special lovey. Master has always taken my orange pasley scarf whenever He deploys. i'd like to think it has served Him well.

Master recently bought me a puppy blanket, a square, soft black snuggly blanket with black paw prints almost invisible on it. i quite simply adore it; it keeps me in a safe place when He is away and has the added bonus of taking the worst edge off subdrop which i can suffer from dreadfully. i am a very put together person normally, but sometimes it is good to have something physical to ward off the horrors of the world grins and like a small child has a blankie, i have my puppy blanket to keep me safe. It's odd in a way, as i never did the whole blankie thing as a child shrugs i suppose i am subconsciously treating it as an extension of Him and the protection He gives me through His dominance... gabrielle x

Yep... dreamy sigh. When Master and I were first together he gave me a shirt of his to take with me one morning when I had to leave. He told me to always keep it handy so that if I wasn't with him, or couldn't get a hold of him (due to him being in a meeting or something) and was feeling some sense of neediness or emotional fraility I would have it to hug tightly and feel safe. It was perfect and I loved it. He did this mainly because he was concerned about subdrop on the mornings when I would leave after a heavy session the night before. Now that I live with him there isn't really a need for it, but when he travels, I always sleep on his side of the bed and I think I hug his pillow more than I actually sleep on it.

I used a similar technique in helping my wife deal with her inherent mistrust, as a result of past abuse. I purchased a plastic stool. We agreed that when standing on the stool and speaking, we meant exactly what we were saying, with no if's, and's or but's.

My Lady and I have a stuffed bunny - representing me...that she sleeps with when I cannot be with her. I sleep with it sometimes to "recharge" it. [;)] We also have "bunny blankets" - several of those supersoft microfiber blankets that are all fuzzy and sort of feel like bunny fur. I sleep with one every night, they are our after play warming blankets, and we always take one when we travel. They definitely represent safety and love and warmth in that strange childlike way. I love 'em! [:)]

She also has, literally, a blanket I bought for her, which she cherishes. Last I was with her, my favorite pajama pants decided "enough is finally enough". She kept the cloth to make clothing for the teddy bears. Something she finds very intimate and I find cute (while others often don't understand) is her having my old boots. I wear steel toed boots nearly every day, they've become a part of me... Like a favorite jacket, ring, or pocketknife. When the pups destroyed one of my boots, I sent the pair to Pet. To chew on, to sniff, to sleep on... Whatever it is dogs do with shoes. So the question was "Do you have a security blanket?" She has a security boot.

My slave gives me special momentos and gifts to keep around my home and workspace to keep me happy and protected. I know the HeadMistress I work for gets similar gifts from her slaves like virgin mary statues, crosses, dreamcatchers, crystals and protective talis necklaces. I think that's where my slave got the idea from.

51 years old..and I keep my son blankie that he had from his first breath..all I have to do it is open the drawer where I keep it..and stroke it..and I'm back in balance. I've also kept the headcover and booties from my daugthers birth right besides that blankie too. And I'm supposed to be a Dom too.....grins! Hey, we all have things to help us thu the days,right?

Funny about the unwashed shirt - I am the "dom" but when I first met the boy, I liked when he left a shirt at my place. I would have it right up next to my pillow. As to the simple practicality of a blanket - after a heavy session where my sub is naked or nearly so, sweaty, all full of adrenalin, tired, spacey - it is just really nice to have a blanket around to throw over them. I like ice packs for the butt too. I like curling up under a warm blanket after I have a good, vigorous fuck too. It's just plain nice.

I gave Mistress on of my shirts when she went back to West Virginia to finish school. She keeps it on a pillow and cuddles up with it every night. She even sprays it with my cologne so that it smells like me. She says it helps with the distance and provides constant knowledge that I am always there for her, I always look out for her, and that we'll be together again very soon. I have on of her tiny babydoll shirts that she manages to slither all her voluptuous curves into on my pillow. I have some of her body spray that I spray on her shirt and my pillows so her scent is always there. I even have a few of her hair ties on my wrist that I wear 24/7 along with my collar. Little things like help me my sanity.

I give a long strand of my hair and something with my perfume. There are other things, but these are the most me for those times apart. I just have to replace them more often! lol
