I have came across people with many different interest but nobody who loves masks, corsets, and such. My version of BDSM is a bit fancier than just canes and whips. Anyone else here has the same interests?! [;)]

That's a pretty pejorative statement there, that people who go in for pure pain play are plain whereas your kink is better because it is fancier.

It could just as easily be said that you're a wimp and they're much edgier, which would change the statement so that they were the fancier ones, while you got dumped on.

Now if you are saying that you aren't into whips and chains but much more into masks and corsetry, try saying that without putting others down.

And for your information, any time someone asks if anyone else is into... The answer always is yes.

I have seen some rather fancy cane and crop work among other things in my time.  I was kind of hoping this was about treating various play skills as art forms, but what can I do?

LOTS of people are into such things and it also does not preclude them from enjoying the canes and crops either.  I think this is better phrased as accessorized BDSM or something.  I have to agree this did come across as offensive.

You'll have to define fancy. Do your ropes have diamonds in them or are you thinking of force feeding caviar until they get a tummy-ache? If you mean the masks and corsets, I can't really say I find those things fancy as they are sold quite cheaply at my local adult stores. But then again, I don't consider a corset a "twue" corset unless it's, at the least, been custom-fitted. [;)]

Friends of mine have made an art form out of clothespins on her breasts.  They have different colors and shapes of clothespins and have taken gorgeous pictures!

And yeah, the Citadel had a "flash party" just last night (meaning taking pics is encouraged).  I know people with CM profiles who were there.  The funny thing is, plenty of people have started grumble-threads about how that kind of behavior is diluting the "lifestyle."

My advice?  Attract someone who wants to please you, and then have that person wear whatever masks you want.

yes...enjoy what you like...if Masks and corsets help to spice your enjoyment then do just that..personally, I enjoy seing female subs in them...well hell Dommies look hot in them too..lol.  and I'd say there are alot of us out there....

Pictures dilute the lifestyle? I must be single-handedly responsible for quite a bit dilution then. I'm rather camera shy now but there was a time when I wasn't!

Well, it is true that it sometimes seems hard to match your own particular kinks.  My biggest one is bondage, but at the few play parties I've been to, it seems to take a big backseat to whipping.   I would dearly love to find someone who finds it fun to tie me up fun in itself.  It seems that what bondage tops there are have a strong preference for female bottoms.  Not that I can blame them -- I'd rather look at women in bondage myself -- but it's not my fault I didn't happen to be born a pretty girl, damn it. :) 

There have certainly been plenty of corsets and such at those parties, though.  I think many Dommes and others like dressing up for such occasions, even though they may get very irritated at subs who expect them to wear corsets and thigh-high boots seven days a week.

What you're talking about is fetishism, not BDSM.

While the two sometimes entertwine, there are a large number of people that engage in one or the other but not both.

So before you go around throwing out that your BDSM is fancier....maybe you should learn about which you speak.

For the record, I'm involved in D/s, BDSM and adore corsets.

Wow, talk about reading more into a post than necessary. 
 
I read it as her idea of WIITWD is more into pagentry than the people she has encountered so far and is wondering if there's anyone else who likes what she likes.  Her description of her experiences is pretty straightforward.  I'm not sure how you manage to equate her description of her desire for what she consideres "fancier" kink to saying her kink is "better" than anyone else's. 
 
Yes AngelToes, there are plenty of people who like corsets, masks, and just about anything else you can think of to do or to wear while doing it.  I'm going to guess you'd enjoy a high protocol situation or a partner that enjoys role-play scenes.  Try searching for partners (if you're looking for them) using the Interests Search feature.

Yes. But anything and everything costs money and finding reputable outlets online (for those of us that are unable locally) can be challenging sometimes.

Try Amazon Dry Goods for corset and period clothing patterns and your local craft store for bases and supplies to create your own masks.  I've also had good luck finding clothing on eBay.  Those of us without outlets or large sums of money have to get creative sometimes.  But creating DIY gear can be fun.  [:)]

Well we certainly love corsets and use them a lot. Master loves using them to control my breathing while using the whip or belt. I'm sure we are not the only ones.

I've always loved wearing corsets, heels and leather. PVC dresses are now finding their way into my collection as well. I can also make my own outfits - which are still in the design stage at the moment. Dayjobs get in the way of the creative process.
 
I can do WIITWD in jeans and t-shirt - but I like participating in the moment. It doesnt hurt that males are visual creatures It's part of the heady rush of the scene if the lady standing over them LOOKS a bit (pick a word ... imperious? intimidating? Amazonian?)  I dont really have an opinion either way about masks.
 
If that all sounds tongue-in-cheek to anyone, hold your fire. Its early and I've not yet had nearly enough coffee.

You will find many people with similar interests at a Fetish Ball.  The Fetish Ball parties are much more about dressing in sexy clothes than the BDSM play parties.  Most people are into laytex, rubber, and leather, however there are plenty of people into masks and corsets.  Corsets were actually fairly popular at the BDSM parties that I have been to as well.  If you like masks and such, then I would highly recommend the Masque dinner party in Holywood.  It happens once or twice a year.  Everyone wheres nice clothing and masks.  They then have some outstanding stage performances.  Rubber doll and Anastasia performed, and we saw some quality fire amoung other performances.  After dinner their was a D.J. and a intimate party.  The second day there is a big Fetish dance party at a night club.  The dinner party is a bit more expensive but well worth it, and more what you are looking for.  The dance party is a much larger crowd and I imagine it is more like your normal fetish party.  I unfourtunetally could only attend the dinner party.  If I still lived on the West coast I would go regularly.  Anyway the fetish crowd puts an emphasis on the dressing up rather than the BDSM.  Search for Fetish Balls and Masquerades.  I hope this helps you find what makes you happy.

Woooo - there are some touchy people on here  - just how long do you have to spend crafting your OP before you come up with something that doesn't upset some group or other? This wasn't a "my kink is better than your kink" post - it was "does anybody else like the same stuff as me"! So in reply to the OP - YES - there are plenty of people who like a little dressing up, some theatre with their play, and there IS more to domination and submission than pain. (But if pain's your thing and you like to keep it simple, have fun).

I'd tend to describe it more as elegance or the "thread count" of one's life. To me, this is more about atmosphere, surroundings and the quality of the individuals involved. With the right proclivities and surroundings in place, a simple belting is aesthetic enough. Living beautifully, tastefully and honestly as the dominant party sets the "scene" well enough in my mind. The implements and the costumes are related, but inevitably secondary to a much grander stage.
