I'm 22 according to the parameters of time set forth by humans.

I believe life is all about learning and growing, no matter what your age, but I do not think it is wrong to have opinions formed through our own very personal experiences. I often receive rude emails (mostly from Dominants) that are mostly within the realm of name-calling (so very mature). They usually go something like this:

"You're only 22? Stop acting like you have life figured out, you're just a brat trying to get attention."

Now, if any of these fine people had read my profile, they would realize that the only things I have even half figured out are things about myself, I never claimed to be a Goddess among mere mortals or better than anyone. God forbid a child of 22 years old ever write any sort of independent thought! I write journals when I feel something very strongly and I'll never apologize for that.

So, basically what I'm trying to get at is this: I wish people would stop basing so many of their opinions of other people on a superficial thing like how many years they've been on this planet. I know children who have been through more than I could ever fathom experiencing. The human mind is fragile, but oh so strong in other ways, it's fascinating really. Wisdom is a result of experience, and experience is not ruled by time.

Thanks for listening!

Meh, just ignore the ones that get pissy about you being *shock, horror, 22?!!!*. It's not going to do anything but lock you into a pointless arguement without end.

scottjk -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/13/2009 11:18:16 PM)

I remember feeling like that at your age. :)

Then some one told me a very important point.

No one grows older and wiser without making mistakes. If the elders take the time to teach you their mistakes, it's a gift of growth and wisdom, not an insult. The older ones that piss you off are the ones that have pissed off the elders that tried to teach them. It's the JOB of the elders to teach the young. It's a fundamental fact that has defined the survival and growth of our species. We learn from our mistakes and teach what we have learned to the young. As such, we should respect those elders that have learned.

And so, I give YOU a gift. Think over the gifts that your elders give you without getting irritated. You'll learn more, and benefit a great deal more.

SailingBum -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/13/2009 11:51:23 PM)

The OP must be in denial as age like it or not does define who you are.  Whether or not they choose to accept it goes to maturity.  By the time my kids were 10 they realized whining is "wasted".  Learning to deal with what life throws at them is a much more valuable pursuit in life.  My advice is simple grow up.

babygurlrides -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/14/2009 2:09:55 AM)

My advice to you would be to ignore those that have a problem with your age. Personally, it's not that I have a problem with who you claim to be or how knowledgeable you are, it's just that who are today, is not who you will be 10, 20, even 30 years from now. When I look back through the years, the biggest and most significant periods of emotional growth, maturation and contentment happenned after my 40s. I am 52 now and I daresay I am nowhere near the same person I was when I was your age. Thats why I prefer older partners. Most times, they have waded through their shit:):)

MG4Apuppygirl -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/14/2009 2:32:52 AM)

Good for you. If you are dominant then that is who you are, you can experiment all you want but all things go full circle. You are dead set right. Wisdom is a result of experience, it's just how willing you are, what you are prepared to do and how well you learn through each experience. How good you turn out is up to you, but always remember there are some things you will be obligated to do for free. That's the exchange price for being taught how to be truly dominant.

LadyMerrisa -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/14/2009 3:26:45 AM)

OP, don't waste your time and energy on people, who you will never meet in your real life. If they are sending you rude, agressive emails, just ignore them. Yes, you are very young in comparsion with many folks on this site and yes, after 10, 20 or 30 years, you will probably be different person than you are right now. It doesn't make you lesser or something like that. It only means, that you have a lot to learn and a lot to experience. And it's great. Learning is a wonderful process.

And remember, all these guys who are picking on you today, were also young and inexperienced in the past >:) Take a good look on them and resolve, that you will never be alike, when you will be pushing your 30-, 40- or 50- :-)

*Chuckle*  Congratulations.  You've found a way to have idiots self-identify.  That should save you some time.

I will, sadly, have to disagree with you. This is pretentious crap. It is not the 'JOB' of any older ass to 'educate' the younger people around them. Actually, I find that insulting, that I am supposed to glean knowledge from someone just because they've had longer to screw around that I have.

If I want to learn from someone, that'll be my choice to make. If not, I expect people around me to respect my choices, and *coff coff* that I actually do know what I'm doing.

scottjk -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/14/2009 11:13:38 AM)

Well, if you can't be a good example, you can serve as a horrible lesson. :)

Have it your way. I learned the hard way, I suppose you'll have to as well.

Funny how history repeats itself, the same mistakes, over and over.

Yes, I must respect your choices, but I have no reason to expect you to know what you're doing, that's something you'll have to prove, and often, and not just to me.

Hey, I applaud it! [:)]
I've had some great experiences with older women and learned things that no youngster would have ever been able to provide.

I'm glad I'm defined by my age, to those with the intelligence to see my age for what it is and means. [:D]

ah cool.  im sure you knew what you were doing when you learned to tie your shoes.. from someone older.  im sure you knew what you were doing when you learned to drive.  im sure you were born with the knowledge of how to use a pair of chop sticks (something im still working on)  young prople have an arrogance thats unbelievable these days.  then again, im sure my parents could say the same, and they smiled as i declared myself "grown" and snickered as i fell each time.

so, now, i just smile

you know exactly what you are doing

FullCircle -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/14/2009 5:03:50 PM)

No one taught me how to tie my shoes we had velcro! We invented velco in fact, you and your laces these are the old ways.[8|]

tazzygirl -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/14/2009 5:09:53 PM)

ah yes, for those who grew up after us without the ability to actually learn.  sorry, i forgot in my old age

FullCircle -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/14/2009 5:14:57 PM)

What is this Age War 2?

No one taught me round pegs didn't go in square holes either, if they'd let me know earlier that damn game wouldn't have lasted so long or been half as entertaining.

They don't???

Damn, was I napping that day or looking under skirts or something? Why do I miss these things so often? [:D]

FullCircle -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/14/2009 5:25:14 PM)

Technically Mr Scotty round pegs do go in square holes and peg size to hole size ratio is more of a governing factor. [8|]

tazzygirl -> RE: My age does not define me. (3/14/2009 5:57:28 PM)
