It isn't something you can just leap into. for most people, their feet aren't flexible enough to get into the shoe properly without some time and effort building flexibility and strength. Then there is the pain issue (even if you pad the toes with cotton balls) and that kind of foot pain isn't for everyone as it is intense and lasts for hours. It is also risky in that toes break rather more easily that some think, especially if they are not accustomed to carrying the whole weight of the body. then there are the instep issues and the ankle issues and the balance issues. But yes, if you put in the time and effort (LOTS of both) it is totally possible and can be done with grace and finesse.
