NightDaughter -> Journals (8/15/2004 5:54:59 PM)

Well this is something that I have kept for years on my own and a while back Master started to require that I keep a "slave journal" that he would read once a week on average. It was a punishment free zone so I was able to write anything that I pleased in it, that came to mind that I was not at the time able to tell him to his face (didn't happen often, but I did have a few things that it was not ease to tell him face to face to start with, but that changed as time passes and trust grew).

Anyhow, what I am currently wondering is how many subs/slaves here currently have and use journals (online or off line), and if you do use a journal if it because your dominant requires it? if so does it help to have this journal, is not does it just plane help to get your ideas on papar just so you can get your thoughts together?

For my part my "slave diary/journal" is not currently part of my life with Master, I still keep a journal (online and off) but it is not a required one, it is one that I keep becuase I like to put my thoughts down to paper and online for various people who have an interest can read.

well take care everyone,

Hi Night Daughter

i have kept a journal but not real faithfully. I keep the journal for myself it helps me deal with things. Understand my thoughts, if good or bad.

i have yet to find my one day Master so this wasn't something i shared except with one friend of mine.

It helps a lot to write down Y/your feelings, almost like talking about them.

i can see where a journal is great for a Master to have his slave/sub keep. Helps Him understand how he/she feels about things. i tend to be a little shy and keep a lot of things inside but yet i can write them out. Sometimes it is just hard for me to talk about some things and that would be a good way to tell Him without actually has to explain it verbally.

maybe this isn’t true for all people but i do know how therapeutic it is for me to write.

Hi NightDaughter,

I have just started keeping a journal regarding my chastity experience. It was a requirement of the Mistress who is holding the keys. It serves 2 purposes:
1. Ensures that i have to think about Her each day
2. Provides the Mistress with a way of mointoring my predicament as well as providing the necessary entertainment.

The journal is online and can be found at http://www.livejournal.com/users/beltmeplease/

I keep a journal in which I write, not daily (so not really a journal), but I do make use of a composition notebook to write whatever I wish to write. Sometimes to claify thoughts, sometimes to bemoan my fate, sometimes to celebrate my life, sometimes just becuase I like to write. My journal is not limited to Ds/BDSM "stuff." My past partner had me keep a journal, but at the end of that relationship, everything was thrown away.

I find that it is interesting to sometimes look at the old notebooks and see what I was ever so concerned about or interested in months and years ago.

Sure I keep a journal. Not something I would do normally(my life's just too boring). So yes, it is for Him. Is it required? No.

It's a place where I can rant and rave. Where I can express myself without worry. As well as a place where he can see just how my mind works (which I'm not so sure is such a good idea lol) It's a place where he can keep track of me (we're states away right now) and know I'm all right. [:)] Yes it helps in all aspects.

Take care,

NightDaughter-
I'm responding to your initial post, so please forgive me if I'm being repetitive.
I have always kept a journal. It's a nice indication of where you're going, and where you have been. I do all of my goal-setting in my journal and I find that this keeps me on task.
I also feel that (when used in the correct manner) that a journal can be a powerful relationship tool in any relationship dynamic. I keep a loose journal with a friend of mine in New Orleans. We date the email, jot down our thoughts and move on. I am also dating a gentleman who lives pretty far away from me, and although we are currently just scoping each other out I occasionally send him a random-thought email. Or a mini-essay. I think that it enhances our communication and satisfies my need to be a bit of exhibitionist. (maybe REALLY exhibitionistic is a better way to describe me.. [:D])
At any rate, I like journaling, too.
As Always

Sir has me keeping a journal on-line, here and a mirror on livejournal. He has said that i am to bare my soul in it. i'm finding it helpful. i have always expressed myself more easily with paper and pen, than face to face. Sir reads the journal and W/we talk about ti when there is something that needs to be talked about.

i find it easy to express myself in the journal. i know that He will read it and if there's something that i feel the need to bring up and i feel uncomfortable doing it to His face, i know i have the journal, and that He will be reading it. It helps me work things out that are going through my head, as well.

To me anything that improves communication between a Top and bottom is a good thing. Though i have known a few subs that use thier required journals to say nasty things to thier Doms, most use them to communicate concerns, wants and desires that one might be ashamed to ask for out loud. Ridicule is a powerful weapon (notice the word ridicule not humiliation technique?) and it can go on killing for years after it is fired off. Most folks are afraid of it and submissives in particular, so if one mentions that say....erm....sometimes she wishes He would use a blindfold and later He never pulls out a blindfold they will know that is a "no" and they didn't have to ask nor be refused. Yes i know it was a lame example....lol
