Mikalsheart -> Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 10:10:29 AM)

hello A/all....
   i have been married to my Master for 8 years and it has been wonderful. except for my fibromyalgia and the "complications" it can cause..in particular the stuffed sinuses and inability to breathe when i bend over Him. He has been very understanding but has recently voiced His frustration  with me...i cannot take decongestants on a daily basis due to high blood pressure.  it is also very frustrating  for me because serving Him is what i love doing..
   Toss in a knee that will be needing a replacement in a short time (so kneeling is out too) and Y/you can see where W/we are at time of looking for options and ideas.
                           thanks for any help
                                   Blessings
                                           heart

Soooooooo, the man cannot accept that you have viable medical limitations? Is he not aware that these are limitations that are out of your control?

Have you sat down with him and discussed alternatives that would work for both of you? I mean, we could give you ideas all day but they may or may not work for the two of you.

Communication...... it's a grown up human relationship thing.

talk to your physician.  there are other meds you may be able to take to deal with the stuffy nose.  as far as kneeling, there are other ways to serve.  get creative, get sexual, get playful.. discuss it with him.  perhaps he will allow you to develop another position to serve from.  i know Master likes it when i slide up againnst him to serve ~grins

Mikalsheart -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 11:05:23 AM)

He has not brought this up to me until last night ....W/we both know i have limitations but it has just been recently (plus a very damp winter) that seem to have made my sinuses worse.
If i know W/we are to have playtime..i usually take something to make it easier for me to move from the fibro....

i would like ideas all day long as you put it.that is why i am here, for help....

I have constant sinus problems from October to April.  I was totally in love wih sinus decongestant spray until my "cold" got unbearably worse two years ago and I went to the doctors.  Seems that the steroids in the medicine had swelled up the inner walls making it even harder to breathe.

The nurse suggested a simple saline spray as an alternative and for the past couple of winters I've found that I'm taking less medications.

LaTigresse -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 11:20:27 AM)

For sinus problems, I cannot recommend anything more highly than a neti pot. It has virtually ended all of my sinus issues. In addition, I seem to avoid getting colds and flus much better also.

Mikalsheart -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 11:26:26 AM)

thank you, that is something i may look into especially if it reduces colds and flu.....another symptom of Fibro........you pick up every little bug that comes around.

jeffman1234 -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 11:45:52 AM)

Ok listen, playtime should now be on the back burner. You have a serious chronic problem! Don't let me panic you, but I was with someone for a trial couple of weeks and 1 month after I left she died suddenly. She had fibro for a long time, but seemed fine at the time.He can't play at all (well maybe with himself) without you!

Lockit -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 12:12:45 PM)

Okay this may sound weird... but I found something that helped me.  I have fibro and all those nasty lil bother's too.  I cannot take cold medicines at all or I put myself at risk of having a bleed and that could mean death.  So... I had to get inventive to help myself.  Now this got a lot of laughs from my boss and people who see what I use... but if it works... I will laugh right along with them and I will have the last laugh as I feel better and can do more!

I had this spiky little vibrator that looked like metal and was used for reflexology.  So right off just seeing that.. my boss had all sorts of things to tease me about. lol  But I take a vibrator and run it along my nose, cheeks... around my eyes and such to loosen things up... but running it over and around the nose area will tickle and will make you sneeze and.. you got it... it clears you out.

I also use a vick's stick after the massage...lol... and it keeps me clearer during times when I need to bend and such.  (or even just breath!) Good luck!

Thunderbird56 -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 12:24:12 PM)

Let's deal with the root of the problem. I'm not a doctor and I don't even play one on TV ... but I *might* play doctor with you!  :)
I see an MD that practices holistic medicine first. He gives free classes on his recommended diet and chelation therapy. He says that he has *never* seen an auto-immune disease that did not have a heavy-metal component. You might want to consider finding an MD that screens for heavy metals and read up on chelation therapy. You might be able to deal with the cause and not have to just treat the symptoms. You might not have to live with fibromyalgia!

Lockit -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 12:29:25 PM)

The only heavy metal component with me is music.  I have been tested by hundreds of doctors and just about anything you could imagine tested...  I would like to see what this theory is based on.  I have read many theories... that just don't pan out for every person with fibro or like illnesses.  If one has a therory or prognosis or test... with merit... someone would latch on to that in a heartbeat trying to be the great wiz doc of the century.  There are too many variables.

well, what is that for a link now???

Natasha Richardson also died suddenly (probably) without having fibro...and seemed fine at the time...

my problems with colds vanished when my tonsils got removed 13 years ago...since then I do not pick up any more bugs then any other body does, despite fibro. Whereas I am aware that fibro differs, to have a cold connected with it is the first time I have heard about

Mikalsheart -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 2:25:22 PM)

i had my tonsils removed when i was 6...... it's not that colds are connected to fibro....i have found since having fibro my immune system is not what it once was.....especially working with young children who always seem to have snotty noses.

So did the fibro kill her? or was it Colonel Mustard in the library with a rope????

It seems to me that only being concerned about your sinus issues because it impedes your serving him...
well, that seems a bit backwards to me.
You should be taking care of you, seeking appropriate medical treatment for chronic medical conditions like sinusitis because it is the responsible thing to do.
It is a quality of life issue.
That should be important to both of you.

Mikalsheart -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 2:40:16 PM)

It is not sinusitus....it is a "side condition" from the fibro......if i do anything with my head bent down for a long time   my sinuses block up......shortly after i lift my head they tend to clear up agaiin.

Lockit -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 2:54:02 PM)

I had one doctor test me extensivily and he said my body was reacting as if it were allergic to all sorts of things, but that I wasn't really allergic and I would have the sinus problems no matter what we did.  Now with the fibro I can get viruse's... but with CFS in combination, when it is active I cannot get a virus because I already have a virus and this has been the way I see it work with me.  But if my CFS is in remission, I can get a virus.  Many who have fibro also have CFS.  It is hard to tell between the two sometimes.

So the sinus problems are a common complaint with people who have one or both of these things and it isn't always an immune system being weaker.  It involves the immune system but isn't always weak.  Confusing eh? lol  It may seem like you have a killer virus and really you don't.  It is just one of those weird fibro/cfs things.

Taking sinus medication may help, but long term use could be a problem.  I would be very careful.  That is why if there is a natural way... I do not mean natural products... they are just as dangerous in many ways... but a way that means no treatment other than what you can do without products... that is the way I go with it.  With all the meds or whatever you could be taking to treat symptoms or making yourself comfy... it can get complicated.  That is why my little vibrator trick is something I like.  I will also on bad days suck on a cough drop for maybe half the drop. That and the vick's stick can help during.. um... certain forms of play! hehe  Also I found that doing things from a side angle so one side of the nose stays free.. helpful.

DesFIP -> RE: Fibro sub???? (3/20/2009 2:57:27 PM)

Instead of kneeling, find a stool.
Neti pot, sinus flush or a small personal steam inhaler (what I use). And saline spray.
It won't be spontaneous but if he usually wants a bj about ten, then you know to go wash out your sinuses earlier.
