I have a serious mad-scientist / evil-genius fetish, & I've been having this increasing desire to wear mad-scientist garb much of the time anymore . . . . . .

For an excellent example of the basic mad-scientist tunic, check out:

http://drhorrible.com/

(You'll only have to watch a few seconds of the beginning to see the tunic . . .. . . & Neil Patrick Harris is sportin' some fabulous evil-genius goggles . . . . .)

It's roots go back to my childhood, but the details of this fetish have been emerging within me in a more explicit form over the last coupla years that I've been active in the BDSM scene, & thus thinking about what my interests are, learning about others' fetishes, & etc . . . . .

I find that there's a certain resonance & cross-over between 'Medical Play' & my mad-scientist fetish . . . . (For instance, I recently added a set of scrubs to my BDSM costuming kit, because it 'felt right' . . . . .)

Straightjackets also scream 'mad-scientist fetish' when I see them . .. .. . I have this bright orange ripstop nylon I want to make into a straightjacket, complete with rainbow-striped webbing -- I've been picturing it in my mind for years now . . . . . . Anybody know where I can find rainbow-striped webbing, not the elastic variety?

Anyways, as is true for so many here, I'm looking mostly to find that I'm not the only freak with this particular fetish . . . . . . I'd love to hear from others . . . . . . Love to talk mad-scientist costuming, props, scenarios, etc . . . . . .

Best,
The Demon, Kia

Is your desire to BE a mad scientist/evil genius or to "used" by one?

All of the above . . . . . lol . .. . .

There are so many roles in a mad-scientist scenario -- the evil genius him- / her-self, lab assistant, experimental subjects . . . . lol . . . . . The more I turn the idea in my mind, the more I notice that all it's nooks & crannies intrigue & fascinate me . . ... . .

When I was young I had (lots of) fantasies of being the experimental subject, but as I've grown older I increasingly see myself as an evil genius . . . . . .

Bwa-ha-ha-ha . . . "Where are my minions? I need minions . . . . . . "

lol

Thanks for participating in this thread . . . . .

The Demon, Kia

Beautiful! Excellent! Exactly what I had in mind . . . . .

& we have a Joann Fabrics in town, so I'm gonna hustle on out & see if I can track some down without pushing electrons . . .. . lol . . . . (I feel so old-fashioned, I always prefer to go into a brick-&-mortar rather than order online . . . . . )

Thank you, thank you, thank you . . . . . & great quotes in your signature, Ms. Flutter, by-the-by . . . . .

I've always fancied myself as being a subject of the experiment. Bound to the table and restrained tightly with leather or metal shackle type bonds, my cloths being cut off with EMT style sheers or just ripped off and then being used in the evil genius/Mad scientist's diabolical plot to create some sorta "thing". Of course my fantasies always had the evil scientist/genius as a super hot female hell bent on harvesting my man juices, but that's just me. Maybe for the chicks it was the mad scientist/evil genius impregnating them,

Hehe, while the mad scientist isn't really a fetish of mine, I do love medkink, and the "Mad Scientist" persona is always a staple of the haunted house I work with.

Here's what we use.

Goggles- whether put up out of the way on top of your head, or hiding your eyes while you wave the torch at your hapless victim, goggles can make your outfit. Careful, some of them are actually functional, and make it impossible to see in low light.

Labcoats can be found anywhere- I just picked up one for class for 20 bucks. If you'd like- you can dye the coat interesting colors. The one at the hauntie house is surgical green, with bloody spatters.

Gloves:  Tight leather elbow gloves. Electricians gloves, or just plain rubber gloves work as well. You can always get black latex gloves if you want to be cheap. Don't get conned into buying them on a kinky website though.

Masks. Legit military gas masks, cyber masks, or even just a paper med mask. You can make your own mask out of the respirator things you find at home depot- I made mine out of that, some paint, and various tubing, but some asshole got bored and picked it all apart.

I was lucky enough to score a set of antique medical restraints, and a gurney... fun fun. >:)

Finish it up with a pair of black pants and some nasty boots and... tada! Evil scientist! Maniacal laugh not included.

I have play a Mad-scientist before and it does have its enjoyments when you get to play God and my friends and I are all hooked on DrHorrorable(one, if not the only, good thing to come out of the writers strike) // I would like to get myself a straightjacket, not to play with, with a sub thou, as it would cover the up far to much and also that is what rope is for XD But I not not come across a gril with a fetish for Mad-scientist // Dress up like doctors sure, but even vanilla people do that

Excellent thinking, all that . . . . .

I scored black rubber gloves at the dollar store . . . . . . . (I only buy what I absolutely must at the adult stores . . . . . Tightwad kinkster to the max, here . .. . . lol)

I saw these welding goggles in which the lens' are interchangeable . . . . Different color lens' were available, one lens could be put in, or multiples . . . . . Plus they looked really cool . . . . Very high on my list to track those down when I get to that point . . . . . lol

I do sew, some, & I'm working on figuring out how to make the proper mad-scientist tunic (I used to do SCA & I've made Elizabethan costumes) . . . . . Once I've got the hang of making the mad-scientist tunic, I want to make a number of them out of very non-traditional fabrics, & then I just wanna wear them all the time, as part of my day-to-day costuming . . . .. . Pink faux-fur, fleece, I've been accumulating various fabrics that appeal to me for this effort . . . .. lol

I tend to think that the tunic will look quite smart above a matching pencil skirt, too . . . . .

While I was out shopping today I thought it would be very amusing (& more than a little OCD) to make a bathrobe-&-nightie set in the style of the mad-scientist tunic, too . . . . . lol

Thanks for the links & thoughts, appreciate you posting to this thread . .. .

Awesome, totally understand . . . . . When I was a kid I had similar fantasies, tho' as I'm getting older I'm feeling more & more the evil-genius end of the probe . . . . . lol

& is it just wrong & bad & foul that I want an autopsy table? (Mind you, I don't actually want to conduct an autopsy -- ew yuck . . . . . )

Thanks for posting . .. .

I've seen people wearing straight-jackets as formal wear, at fetish events & such, with the sleeves rolled / strapped up, looks fabulous . .. .. & since evil geniuses are always getting caught & locked away in a padded room with their tunics traded out for the straight-jacket, I tend to think that straight-jackets can be 'dominant appropriate' wear, also, in addition to their obvious use with subs . . . ..

& a custom made straight-jacket could have holes in all the right places . .. . . lol

Awesome, thank you so much for the direction, Joann's did indeed have rainbow webbing . . . . I cleaned them out & they promised they'd order more . . . . . Bwa-ha-ha-ha . . . . .

Certainly, in my universe you may ask anything . . . . .

In my mind, straight-jackets typically have straps & buckles, so some is for that . . . . They also tend to be reinforced (at the seams & hems & such), so some is for that . . . . . .

I want to make a straight-jacket that's useful from a BDSM perspective -- inescapable & tough enough that I can drag a straight-jacketed bottom across the floor, for instance . .. . . . But attractive for fetish events . ... . .

o.o

I know I want a pair of pinstriped scrubs!

I bet they would . . . . .

Fortunately I'm entrepreneurially-minded & know from hard experience & research that making money from sewing only works for those who can outsource the actual work to a low-labor-cost country . . . . . (My sister belly-dances & makes tribal costumes, & has only ever lost money doing the costuming work . . . . . )

Nice thought, tho' . .. . .

Thanks . . . . .. There was some pink-striped webbing on the Baron Belts site that I like quite a bit, in addition to the rainbow stuff . ....

The rubber straight-jackets on the other site had some good photos, can really see the details, that was very useful . ... . & what a fabulous site, wow! Lots of good items for the deranged, scientists & geniuses or not . . . . . lol

Mm, straitjackets! I do sewing and costuming too, I'd love to know how your project turns out, I've been wanting to make a basic black canvas straitjacket for a while. Yours sounds much more colorful.

If you haven't, I'd recommend seeing Repo: the Genetic Opera. Some great costume design there!

Bwa-ha-ha-ha, I just saw Repo last week; definitely one of the weirder flicks I've seen in a long time, & yeah, really great costumes . . . . . . & a totally whack mad-scientist flick, to the max . . . . lol

I'll be sure to post pics as I progress . . . . . . Those pics of the rubber straight-jackets really helped inspire me cuz I could see how simple the jacket can be . .. . . I've seen some at fetish events that looked far more complicated, sewing wise, with venting & pleating & such . . ... .

Colorful, yes . . . . I personally find the all-black thing kind depressing & morbid anymore, & as an exhibitionist doing bright & not-traditional-BDSM colors really helps pull the eyeballs . . . . . lol . .. . . BDSM 'makes' me happy & joyful, in general, & that is connected to bright colors in my mind . . . . .

I also have a massive thing for pink, especially with my BDSM stuff . . . . . lol . .. . So expect to see some pics (sometime) of pink mad-scientist garb & etc . . . . . Truly bwa-ha-ha-ha . . . . .

Best,
