GrigoryyT -> Looking for custom collar. (4/1/2009 6:04:46 AM)

Hi, I'm looking to have a custom collar made for my beautiful slavegirl.  If anyone can point me in the direction of a designer, I'd be grateful.

Thanks.

You might try the Leather Cellar, they used to do custom work.

leather? steel? silver? gold?
it might help people point you in the right direction if you can be a little more specific :)   We know some good metal workers if that's of any use!

good luck :)

You make a good point.  I'm looking for steel or silver - something that bridges the gap between a functional collar and a piece of jewelry.

my personal favourites for the collar/jewellery crossover are chaotic creations, but i believe that richard larsen does custom work too... although i can't vouch, personally, for either. Also, don't be put off approaching custom jewellery makers who don't have a link to kink.. a job's a job to them, as well as perhaps hunting down students on jewellery design courses at any local colleges (if you have them by where you live) thay way they're likely to appreciate the opportunity to hone their craft and offer an excellent value service too :)

Might be worth doing a search for 'custom collar' in the BDSM apparell (sp?) part of the forums as many people jave this same kind of problem in finding something that is symbolic, beautiful and functional (or practical might be a better choice of word there) in equal measures.
We tinker with metal for a living as armour makers so if nobody else gives you any joy feel free to bear us in mind :)

happy hunting :)

some of the questions you have to remember are things like:
should it be lockable.
If she has a job do you want her to wear it to work, and if so would it be acceptable.

i figured out these answers when my girl wore her collar to work for an entire year before someone noticed the lock in the back.
Fortunately, i made the collar myself :)

Hey, I do steel work. Let me know what you had in mind,  and how much you were planning on spending. Maybe  I could help you out.

Look up Vad Farkas on this site.  He makes lovely steel collars.  I believe you can also find some of his work on eBay.

Greetings Sir:

I do some chainmail work and have a few pictures posted on my profile, if You are looking for something that will work as a collar and look like a necklace. I can make it so it locks or so that it can be closed with a pair of flat plyers when the one piece is opened up.

The rings are galvanized steel and not that hard to open up or close should You wish something like that.

well wishes,

tye

As mentioned in a previous post you could do a chain style or maybe a collar made up of interlocking plates...Another question you have to ask besides the whole lockable issue is...Do you want something that she can wear to work without complications (yes I know you're the boss but her employer might have issues), or are you looking for something that she'll wear when out and about when not at the job???One can work for both but one can't...

Just a thought...

Dodger...

You can wear a locking collar to work.  I do.  It is almost universally admired, especially by women.  Many people just view it as a unique piece of jewelry.  If people can wear crosses to work, I can wear a chain that is clasped with a shiny padlock.  I really believe that this is a first step in us demanding our rights as a group.  I almost wish my employer would try to make an issue of my chain.  I think I would have a very winnable case.  If the gays can wear their rainbows and triangles, why can't we wear our symbols?  Freedom of expression.  And even if you're not up for the fight, a chain can be hidden under a shirt.
