and have used such things like henna to give light and shade or to add fine details

Word of caution here, test a place not to be punctured first. I'm really really allergic to henna, and if it gets on my skin the whole area swells and breaks out. Not a good thing to happen in the vicinity of needle play. It's probably not a common allergy, but I thought I would mention it.

Good point Lass.I like to do allergy tests on anyone I want to play with first with anything I may be using. better to take the time than have a negative situation later.

Try putting acupuncture needles in a circle around the nipple. Make a circle with finger and thumb of one hand and put the needles in with the other. The great thing about acupuncture needles is they are encapsulated and so your not going to give yourself a needle stick. When they are all in take the hand away and the needles will open up like a flower. You can run your fingers through them which will create some great sensations or you can touch the end with burning Chinese flax or even a cigar to create heat runs.

The other thing you can do with acupuncture needles is create a porcupine effect. It takes time but its worth the effort.

Allthatjaz that sounds very hot
...i have had accupuncture done by a professional and it was awful, all the needles hurt especially when twiddled and every one of them that came out left me bleeding...not serious, just a drop but still, was that normal? when i have seen it done on film noone ever bled...
i have had to inject myself on occasion and greatly enjoyed piercing myself with the (much bigger) needle without pain what soever and less blood when the needle came out.
i am curious...

Most fleshy / fatty areas, like the breasts and buttocks, pose limited risks.  The big risk with any needle play is infection; the skin is covered in bacteria regardless of how clean the person may be.  Surgical scrubs help a lot, but even the finest hospitals have about a 3% infection rate.  As long as your play partner is not immune comprimised due to HIV or medication such as those used after an organ transplant, go ahead.

As for technique, I vote for slow.  Needle play is as much about the mind fuck as the needle itself.  SHOW the nasty little spike to your sub, ASK her how she would like it if you poked it through her nipple, DISPLAY the number that you intend to use.  Then enjoy.  Inserting a long one all the way through, then drawing it back to the halfway point is nice.  So is gently pulling it back and forth a few time to get it centered.

Shit, i was so curious about trying this. Damn liver transplant. No drinking, no needle play. No fun. :(

I've heard this from a few others regarding acupuncture being painful and yet I regularly (twice a month) have acupuncture done my my Asian Female Physician and before he died, by my late Sensei (A Japanese Gentleman) for numerous painful ailments. In both cases I would have up to 50 needles in me none of which hurt particularly much and once in I was able to relax and meditate until they were removed. Other than interesting pin prick marks which lasted for a day or so there was no discomfort but a resounding feeling of peace and freedom with the lack of pain which lasted for several days.

maybe the difference was the place on my body it was done...it was for medical reasons and all the needles were inserted in my hands and around the base of my thumbs...maybe too close to the bone. They all hurt when they went in and I had expected a very different sensation when they twiddled them, i had expected more of a tickle or electricity buzz but it felt more like cramp than anything else...it never solved the medical issue either...

i had been looking quite forward to the experience and felt quite deflated afterwards...nothing remotely like that scene in one of the Emanuelle movies, even if only on  my hands

I might try again for leisure...that might just make all the difference
thank you IB
