Does anyone know of any naturopathic remedies aside from Arnica that might aid in the healing of bruises? I have a GYN appointment this week and really would rather avoid any splainin...thanks for any input or links to info. (Im already using a topical Arnica gel and planning on getting some oral Arnica in the morning.)

If these suggestions don't work, you can always use make-up. Concealer works very well if it's just a shade lighter than your skin tone. Optionally, you can tell your ob-gyn about your lifestyle so you have a medical professional to ask questions of when issues arise, although it was to my GP that I turned.

Good luck and I hope your appointment goes well.

dear just leather
linus pauling ,the nobel prize for vit. c ;massive doses;this is best;
just be careful ;cause it eats up calcium ;and you can extract so much calcium from your bones; eventually you can tie yourself up in a rubber knot.consult an ortho molecular place; buy the strongest stuff in powder form of ascorbic acid (vit c); can be put in orange juice and stir; or anything else you can pour it into ;and stand the taste; also; you can get empty gel caps; by the bag; at health; sports; vitamin places ;at the malls; and fill it up ;and take it every hour;....soda eats up vitamin c; so youd be wasting your time; and heating it ;or putting it in tea and boiling it;" denatures it ",to no value; but ;its miracle at healing fast....
pan stick is also the best cover.....in makup;
consult beauty supply shops; or estee lauder counters; the usual;
pan stick is found at huge dept stores; powder on top keeps it from smudging,if you have oily skin; usually the powder with some fiber glass in it so; it says; it last all day; won't rub off;
but ,have cold-cream ;if you think you are going to remove it easy ;
smells like purfume ,to a dr who is'nt sophisticated ,enuff ;to guess anyone would use panstick; and or powder down there,....
if you can't find anything in time; use under eye whiteout; makeup eye-cover ;
it's a tiny jar; of white creme, that covers dark circles ,under the eyes;
still has, to be covered, with topical powder,tho...
no problem

I'd heard rubbing alcohol works, and tried it, it did a really good job. I bruise really, REALLY easily, so mine are likely even a bit more serverely visible than yours could be, and it still worked really well. I was plenty pleased

It does take applying it to the bruise a few times daily for a few days though, so if you needed a quick fix for an appointment tomorrow...you're screwed You can give it a shot anyways, I just soak a cotton ball and let it sit on the spot for a minute or two until it feels like it's soaked through the skin some, and whaulah, few days later and it's gone

I have to echo what BT said though, it's great to have a doctor who knows what you're into for whenever you have some question, luckily I have a really awesome ole lady who's seen and heard it all, so nothing I say shocks her, God bless her

Best luck, hope it all works out

I know that you said besides Arnica, but I was just wondering if you are using both the pill form and the cream? If you use both it can sometimes fade the bruises a little faster.
You can also use a self-tanner and then makeup. The combination can hide many, many things. If you can find pancake makeup (by Max Factor) it is the best. Put on with water it gives full coverage and if you put it on with witch hazel it is also waterproof as well as giving full coverage (it was the makeup they used in those 50's and 60's beach movies so you know it works)

Thanks for the suggestions. The only real experience i have with makeup is theatrical makeup and i think that if i were to try to cover the bruises up it would just look weird and ridiculous...im doing oral and topical arnica. The bruises im concerned with are now fading to yellow, so maybe they will be gone or almost gone by wed.
Thanks again for the help.

Oops, I just read the OP and realized that you did say you were taking both (sorry)

Good luck and I hope that the bruises fade in time

The most powerful healing essential oil there is , is Helichrysum, but it is RARE and mega-expensive.

I really like the answer one lady gave here recently - when asked by her doc about the bruises on her breasts and such, she said " I did some mutually consentual stuff with my boyfriend". I think that'd handle most any concern. After all, we as adults don't have the legal entailments of small "unmentionables".

Yes, I think this is the best way to go and have been advised by my dominant that he believes i should bring it up with the NP, so it looks as though Im going to have to do just that.
Thanks for the wording.

Thanks for the advice, all who answered. I appreciate it.

Compressing with Helichrysum Water is amazing for bruising.
Also great for healing open wounds and prevents scarring.

Visit a health food or pharmacutical store. Find vitamin E oil, the strongest IU you can get. 12,000 and up is a plus. Bruises normally go away in a day or two.

Get out into the sun, if your weather permits. Or under a sunlamp. (Not sure if a tanning bed will work, though).

You know how they put babies "under the lights" when they become jaundiced? Jaundice is caused by bilirubin "pooling" under the skin. Bilirubin, without a big boring technical description, is a blood component that is also found in bruises. Sunlight helps break down the bilirubin. I have noticed that my bruises have faded considerably after some time in the sun.

This might sound farfetched, and there's no scientific evidence to back it up that I'm aware of, but I have seen it happen. Of course, take the usual precautions to avoid a bad sunburn.
