Someone had posted about sunblock... I wear a lotion with SPF 30 just about everyday (yup even in winter) because I get burnt pretty easily.

I am slightly jealous of those who are able to get that nice tan... Because of how easily I burn I worry about things like skin cancer so I don't particularly want to go sit in a tanning booth every day. I keep trying different "sunless tanning" lotions my favorite so far being Jergens Natural Glow.... Does anyone have any other suggestions on which ones work well without turning you orange? Oompa loompa just isn't my style.

Sorry, I'm attracted to pale. Why not stay that way?

Agreed. In fact, rub some arsenic on your gums to preserve that milky complexion, will ya?

Lol, it is the OP's call on what she wants to do with her skin.
my family won't leave me alone about my hair, naturally red. i like it colored,,, many colors...

OP, try a body bronzer powder. Yes, it will get on clothes, but so do lotions.
However, powder goes on more evenly than lotions do, so you won't get a "blotchy" look.

Try a shimmer powder to define your muscles on arms and calves. Done right it'll take off 5 lbs instantly. Add two inch heels and you'll lose another...

have you tried doing one of those spray tan booths?  i did that a couple times, comes out ok.  i just stick with pasty these days.  much lower maintenance.

or just risk skin cancer I mean..eventually we're all going to die anyway
I'm as white as a person can get and don't live in one of those sunny countries ugh..so I go once in a while or if I'm going somewhere heck I go a bit more often but anyway, the more often I go the more my body gets used to the tanning so it gets tanned more quickly even if I haven't gone for a while I need fewer sessions to get tan than I used to..
but fake tan can be fine I hate tanning boths, have tried it once and will never ever do it again..I'd rather go for spray tan..or you can buy those tan lotions thingy..if you mix it with your body lotion you get an even layer..don't get all dotty

Hmm... Why not stick with pale? I dunno... I do like my paleness Im just trying to cut the edge off it for when I go to the beach this summer.... I don't want to be blinding people with the sun reflecting off the whiteness of my legs. Although it may keep annoying children away from me. Ill have to think about that.

In any case I think I will try the spray tanning booths and see how that works and maybe try the bronzing powder as well when I go out. Thanks for the suggestions! :)

Rundown on various products. Apparently the higher priced ones work a lot better. And you need to exfoliate first.

I find that I need to get some sun before putting on block or sunscreen. Otherwise my mood worsens if I don't get some sunlight on me. 15 or 20 minutes daily is more than enough though.

If you go out in the sun (with sunblock on) in graduated periods of time, you might tan up a bit without burning.  Fifteen minutes the first day, 20-30 minutes the second day etc.

There is a huge difference among self-tanners and not all will turn you orange. The best one I ever found was Hawaiin Tropic self-tanner, it was far and away the best and not all that expensive, which probably explains why they quit making it, lol. Seems like most times when I find a good product for some reason it disappears. I contacted someone from the company several years ago and they said they were "reformulating" it. Well, if it ain't broke don't fix it is my philosophy. Anyway, I try to check every so often to see if they ever released the update. But if they have, wonder if it is as good?

Once you see someone die of skin cancer...somehow you  are not quite so glib about dying from it.

That'll be a new look. I think the best way to tan only the edges is to stay out in the sun wearing a mask that only covers the centre of your face.

Well don't get all self righteous about it.

I'm pale as a sheet, although hopefully I'll pick up a tan here and there this summer on the lake. I don't like the booths though.. they are all sticky and stale, and then you sweat and scoot all over the place when you try to get out.
