Glad you found a solution that works

My first cast I had to wear for 10 weeks..it was nasty looking after it was removed..it went on christmas day so never had to deal with hot humid weather... the second was during summer luckily only had on for  5 weeks...I used to use plastic knitting needles for the itches

several years later on had other breaks and fiberglass casts though lighter  I found if they were not well padded on the edges they could very irritating..according to my memories though I felt the plaster casts were more comfortable

hopefully ..you will not need to have left on for too terribly long

i've been in and out of fiberglass casts for the better part of two years now.  itching is annoying, no doubt there!  i used powder and a turkey baster, poured the powder in an old pill bottle, sucked some into the turkey baster and then shot it down the cast.  feels especially nice if in hot weather you keep the powder in the fridge.  hope you get out of the cast soon, i've got at least another month in this one!
