Hi everyone,
I've recently (past year) become very interested in learning about this lifestyle. I'm 40 yrs old and have had a longing for this for many years. I consider myself a submissive but would like to know for sure. Any advice? I ve done some research on line, but that's the extent of it.
I would like to discuss in detail: a typical day in the lifestyle, I'd appreciate any input you all have to offer
Thank you

Hi Bouncy,

If you read through the posts, you will see over and over people suggesting to find local groups, go to munches, and ask questions. ::Laughing:: if you have been interested in over a year and are still *new*, you have much more patience than I did when I first became interested. But, luckily I have learned to have some.

Good luck in your search. Be safe.

Imnsho, there's no such thing. Wiitwd is very individual, and a "typical" day will generally vary from one person to the next.

I started this life as a sub. There truly is no typical day. It varies depending on your master, your moods, your situations. It's a bit of a joy really. How about movinng from theory to experience? Find someone to talk to, play creatively on line if meeting is too long a step at first. Consider how you feel about such experiences. Enjoy.

I went this route, rapidly, having a, um, slut streak in me! Nadine.

bouncy,

Like SherriA suggested, get out and meet those in the local community. Take your time and get to know folks. Go to munches and play parties. See how the people interact. Do a visual and audio survey of the behaviors that seem to interest you. Talk, attend, live, enjoy! By all means enjoy.

As for a typical day? No such thing. Each pairing finds their own balance. Their own way that works for them. Just as you will find yours. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

Peace and Light

Have you read any of the numerous books on the lifestyle? Screw the Roses.
SM101, The loving Dominand and Different Loving. Of course this is just a tiny smattering of how many there are out there.
My advice to newbies is read..read and read some more. Don't assume what anyone says is "the one single way" Because it is'nt. Nobody is right.
You're an individual and you're going to like what you do. In a certain way that others don't always agree with. This is life in general. The lifestyle is merely life in general as well.
Each D/s or BDSM couple are different. Different dynamics make up the relationship.
My Dom wakes me each morning. Tells me what to wear. If you were to take a poll you would find very few are into what we are. Its just part of my daily life. I love my life.
So, figure out what you like..then find someone who fits your mold.
Its going to be rough finding your partner but with patience, which we already know you have. You'll be able to do it.
Good Luck.

bouncy,

You will meet many who tell you that something is the only way. They are wrong. You, Your and your Dom/Master (whatever he gets called) will develop your own dynamic.
