Florida US Senator Bill Nelson wants a recall of all that Chinese drywall. With somewhere around 30,000 houses having been built with that stuff, who does he think will be paying to, for all intents and purposes, rebuild all those houses? In many of them, it's not just the drywall that needs to be replaced; it's also the plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and in a few cases, personal effects (jewelry, electronics, etc.). I feel for those home owners who had no idea as to the source of the materials that went into the building of their homes. In my experiences, most potential buyers aren't concerned with the manufacturer of the drywall; just that they have walls. So, who's financially responsible? The home builders? The materials certifiers? The building inspectors? The local governments responsible for building codes? The US Federal government?
