http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=99236 I have a long standing beef with the medical community that will priscribe medications without enough testing to prevent some of the effects of medications. While many things are over tested and not needed, the medical community needs to take seriously what could happen if a patient has something that could lead to death if they priscribe something without knowing the full medical history or condition of the patient. I believe this could have been avoided by testing the immune system and because it was known that this medication could cause this, I feel it was negligent of the doctors to not test this before priscribing it. It wasn't like it would cause a nose bleed. It could cause death and in that case, futher medical testing should have been done before priscribing the medication. Not all people were at risk, just those with compromised immune systems. So now many will suffer for the lack of proper testing to assure a medication was the right treatment for certain patients.
