That guy's a bit of a windbag, isn't he? I hope we all get rid of the bomb. Failing that, I hope Iran gets the bomb: why shouldn't they, after all?

Because they may likely use it on Israel, or the US if they could reach us with it. I see no reason why any more countries need it.

And you don't think they're terrified the U.S. is going to bomb them first? How do you think America appears to them, after what they've done to Iraq? Time to learn from history. During the Cold War you had two blocks convinced that they were in danger from one another. This never materialised. The same thing is happening now: why should Iran bomb anybody, only to get the mother of all retaliations? And why shouldn't they be able to defend themselves?

why should iran bomb anyone?  well they shouldn't, but the whole country is being run by idiots who feel if you aren't a muslim you should die, thanks to the false interpretations of the koran by religious fanatics.  what are the chances of an escalation to the point where they decide to bomb us in the name of god?  never mind that we'd retaliate and send them all to their version of the afterlife, they'd all be religious martyrs!  i'd prefer they didn't have the bomb.  too many temptations to risk some nutjob blowing the world all to hell thanks to a "vision" or other nonsense.

Remind me: who appointed whom as policeman of the planet? Are you talking about the nutjobs who bombed Nagasaki and Hiroshima, and who have sent their troops all over the frikkin planet to establish their rule of law? Unlike us, the Iranians are peace-loving people. It's ironic, really.

Nukes are scary things: nobody should have them. I support complete nuclear disarmament.

Well the cause of complete nuclear disarmament is not furthered by more countries joining the club,is it?
Bad enough Isreal has it...if Iran actually builds one a few of her neighbors might decide they need one.It is a destabilizing move in a particularly lousy neighborhood.

Complete disarmament will likely never happen. If you do and most of the world does but one country keeps a couple. "haha we fooled you" That would leave everyone else defenseless. No country can take that risk.

How so? How is the cause of Nuclear disarmament served by a further proliferation of the dammed things?

Who's arguing in favour of proliferation here, Mike? I hate nuclear armament with a passion: but I don't see how the U.S.A have the right to tell any other country that they cannot have those fucking things just because they disagree with them. What a load of bollocks. Iran is more at risk than anybody else here.

Well the simple fact is another country joining the club is....proliferation.And the stability of the regime is a legitimate concern both for Isreal and the rest of Irans neighbors...none of which look to kindly to a nuclear armed Iran.

Fine, let's not allow Iran to get the bomb. Let's get rid of ours in the process. Deal?

Well what would Mussolini, Hitler, Genghis and Stalin have done with those nukes? Since with your logic they too should have them. Most people believe some people just should not have nukes. Iran can still conquer it's neighbors using conventional weapons if it wants. Nukes are not for conquering a country. They are for obliterating them. Funny thing is I do believe that is Ahmadinejad"s goal.
