Yes!   Flamenco music.   I heard it at Border's cafe, and fell immediately in love.    M

Woo hoo!  Nightwish rocks.  I like Amaranth best.  Have you heard their cover of Phantom of the Opera?  It's wicked cool.

If you like jazzy sounds, just type in Pink Martini at you-tube, you won't be disappointed.

Yep.it was 1972 and I was 12/13 years old when I heard the almost otherworldly guitar playing of Jimmie Page and the thunderous drumming of John Henry Bonham accompanied by the bass styling's of John Paul Jones.....all fronted by the incredible Robert Plant...Yep ,blew me away alright.

Cold War Kids - We Used To Vacation

A friend put this on in the car a few weeks ago, and I spent the rest of the trip trying to convince him to play it a second time.  I've had it in constant rotation since then.

Ever since I heard this one I started using it for my meditations. I have become a huge Kitaro fan.

Yeah, when I was about 16 and heard Gentle Giant for the first time. They changed my musical interests right away and forever. Often described as a "musicians band" for their complex compositions and technical proficiency, they are not casual listener fair. Few people "get them" on a first listen, most never get them at all, or want to.

If the thought of complex, dynamic, intricate music, with lots of counterpoint and inter-play between instruments, masterfully performed interests you, there are lots of youtube videos. I recommend starting with "Funny Ways". Written in 1970 and a live performance band favorite. Where else will you see a bass player on violin, switch to trumpet, back to violin - the keyboard player on cello, then keys, then a killer vibraphone solo, & back to cello ... all during the same song?

"On Reflection" is another exhibition of showmanship and talent, as is "Excerpts from Octopus". Enjoy.
