a year after my divorce i was date raped. when i found out i was pregnant i was floored. it took me a few days to gather my thoughts. did abortion cross my mind? YES. but in the end i decided it wasn't the baby's fault that 2 adults got together (under whatever circumstances), and made a baby. i realized i couldnt' provide a good life for this baby at that point so i found a couple to adopt the baby. 5 months into it i had a miscairrage. i'll admit it was really hard but a relief at the same time. does being relieved and at first considering abortion make me a hypocrite because i'm generally anti abortion? i don't think so. we all have our views and opinions. my political offiliation makes no difference in any of this. it is what it is. my thoughts are my own. we are all human beings no matter our political views.

owner, if palin were a liberal would you be so judgemental? i doubt it, but being the fallible human that i am, i can't be sure.

Palin made a choice.

Several of the women on this thread have said that they too, considered the option, and made choices that were appropriate to them.

Unfortunately, Palin, as an elected official, and a voice to a minority of Americans, wishes to remove that choice from all women within the US, for all time. No exceptions. Not even if the life of the mother is in jeapordy, or if the fetus is horrifically deformed. Her position is extremist.

Most theologins believe that it is the nature of our choices in life that determines the quality of our souls. By interfering in this, perhaps one of the most significant choices a human being can make, (to bring new life into the world, or not) Palin and her ilk commit a far greater sin. They come between people, and their ability to control their own destinies. They come between them and God.

i have a very liberal male friend who considers abortion murder. why is it that some think it's a party view? it's a personal view and opinion...AGAIN, i ask...why are some things viewed as political? i guess i dont' understand why everything comes down to political views to some.

Are you seriously asking why abortion,in this country,is political?A liberal who beleives abortion is murder should reexamine how he identify's.Referring to a woman's right to choose in terms such as murder is the province of the religious right.

Palins stance on abortion is political.

But if you really think about it..this thread is about a fleeting thought which did not have a damn thing to do with politics. It was the thought of a heartbroken human being dealing with a heartbreaking situation.

I said your assertion was incorrect. You turning around and calling me ignorant doesn't change that. Not all liberals think pro-choice is the way to go. You may think they need to reexamine how they identify, but it really isn't any of your business.

The pastor at our chuch is, and no he isn't in denial. Most of the things he holds important fall in line with the left. This issue doesn't. It's simple really.

This is the crux of it all. She does use her 'decision' as a political tool to further her beliefs.
I think this is where the disdain concerning this comes from.

Yup I am completely for keeping the choice available to women. If someone does not avail themselves of that choice, then fine. But at least they have the option.

The option cannot be taken away this late in the game. Medical advancement cannot be undone.
