Status: offline 		We are seriously considering importing a slave from the USA or Erope to the UK
Has anyone here done this ? , are there any potential problems we should look out for?
How do we stand legally and with healthcare etc ?

Not legally since 1 August 1834 (courtesy of the Slavery Abolition Bill 1833). You CANNOT "import" a human being. They can come over on a holiday or apply for various kinds of visas, including (but not limited to)

skilled worker visa
fiance visa
unmarried partner visa
business/investor visa
working holiday visa (2 years duration)
visitor visa (6 months duration)

There are differences, some significant, in the way that non-European and European visitors are treated.

Problems you might face include:

The Law - the person who comes over IS NOT a slave, no matter how you word it.

Other potential problems: homesickness; culture shock; possible language barriers; relationship failure/breakdown between yourselves or between one/both of you and your playmate.

I can't speak for the issue of healthcare - you should be able to get leaflets frmo your GP or local health authority.

Slavery is an illegal act. It exists - but not in a BDSM view in the world as it exists today. You cannot claim or make anyone else your 'slave' and 'import them'. Slavery is a human rights violation.

That said, people feel they are slaves. But the law does not recognise them as slaves in the same way and nor will any documentation stand up in court. You will not be legally responsible for anything of this other person and in fact, if claim they are your slave, are more than likely to be arrested. Cold, hard fact.

That said(again) any person in the UK without legal visas are not entitled to NHS based healthcare. They may be entitled to very basic healthcare, but if that occured, they would have to admit to being illegally settled and will probably be deported unless claiming asylym. You can take out private medical insurance for this person, but they will have to undergo medical checks to gain the full cover, which they will need if your going to be that responsible for them. They will not be entitled for any benefits if they are here illegally. You are also placing yourselves in a tricky position legally. A person can apply for a work visa if they have employment offered - whether they gain it or not is up to authorities.

I am not entirely sure why you are specific about importing a person for slavery purposes. To me, it sets off alarm bells. Have You looked on IC(Informed Consent)? Attending groups and local munches also is a good way of finding potential choices. Your profile says you are inexperienced. I would advise not jumping into such a commitment until you have alot more experience and this can be gained in time, with patience and getting a good network of friends from groups. Admitting to inexpereince is a positive step, but I would suggest it is unlikely you will attract people who would be positive to your growth. Just IMO.

Status: offline 		Similar situations arise here in Australia too. For periods longer that a visitor's visa I'd possibly have to arrange some form of guaranteed employment which would allow then to stay longer and apply for a residency approval which allow them to remain here idefinately or utill the tioiok out naturalisation papers. I would also have stand guarantor for and social security payments made to them for the first two years if they left in that time. Essentially I could state that they would be in our employ either in business or as a domestic and personal carer or similar. Went down that road once but our own Australian Immigration is a cluster fuck and whilst we were cleared to bring a lass over from the US, and had skilled work available for her, we were told it could be upto five years to get her here. That killed the deal..

Status: offline 		Are you sure you can't still do a slave under Lend-Lease? Didn't Eisenhower use that to "import" his English mistress, after the second world war?

If nothing else works ... tell the authorities in the UK that she is actually a new form of WalMart ... because we are exporting that, fucking everywhere.

I did the reverse: brought a family over from the UK to the US, or rather, I was their sponsor. No slavery, though. (sigh)

To day I turn to the US and say unto them: "Give me your slaves and submissives......."
