So, the President is making gestures to be friendly with Latin American countries that have been spurned by the USA in the past.

I for one am glad to see this.  After so much time in So. America, I have heard over and over how much the people are offended by the US government's condescending attitude and policies which often are in violation of their cultures.

What do you expect from Newt Gingrich, the most pompous ass in politics, who somehow believes the American public will take him seriously as a Presidential candidate in 2012 after being reduced to a talking head on Fox.

Truth be told, we manage to do a lot of things that offend our own culture and values as well. But there's another side to this new "palsy" approach, and I sincerely hope that Obama is just setting the stage for some serious talk down the road.

As long as it doesn't involve money or immigration I'm all for it!

Mike, as I've said before *I really do want to see President Obama succeed.*
But, if he goes down the same road and does the same things that Bush did we're just going to have "four more years of Bush policies" and come 2012 we'll have another president.
Bailing out big corporations is right out of Bush's playbook!
I *want* to see President Obama succeed but this country is in desperate need of "change."
"Change" that he promised everyone during the campaign. People are starving out here for "change" in the way our government does things!
Where's the beef?
Where's the change?
