If someone were to look in your CD book, the one you keep with you all the time, what titles would they find?
(If you don't use CD's, feel free to list mp3's, tapes, 8 tracks, whatever you use).

What impression would they likely get of you from looking through your favorite music?

Here's my reply...
I'll list band and CD title. (Sorry, it's a long list. It's the CD book I keep in my car.)

1.) Radiohead- OK Computer, Hail to the Thief, Knives Out Single, and Live Recordings
2.) R.E.M. - Monster
3.) Franz Ferdinand - Self Titled
4.) The Juliana Theory - Grey AM, Love
5.) Starflyer 59 - Fell In Love At 22
6.) Joy Electric - Robot Rock
7.) Stone Temple Pilots - Core
8.) The Faint - Wet From Birth, Danse Macabre (listening to this one now)
9.) Live - Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi
10.) Weezer - Pinkerton, Maladroit
11.) Pedro the Lion - Control, Achilles Heel
12.) Razorlight - Up All Night
13.) David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust (30th Anniversary 2 disc), Diamond Dogs, Aladdin Sane, Best of Bowie, Changes
14.) Sublime - 40 Oz. to Freedom
15.) The Who - Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970
16.) Smashing Pumpkins - Rotten Apples
17.) Star - Goodnight
18.) Jamiroquai - Travelling Without Moving
19.) Spacehog - The Chinese Album
20.) Jimmy Eat World - Clarity (Can you still feel the butterflies?), Bleed American
21.) NIN - Pretty Hate Machine
22.) Candlebox - Various
23.) Better than Ezra - Deluxe
24.) U2- How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, Joshua Tree
25.) Velvet Underground and Led Zeppelin - Many various
26.) Velvet Goldmine - The Soundtrack
27.) Collective Soul - Self Titled, Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid
28.) The Wallflowers - Bringing Down the Horse
29.) Pink Floyd - Animals
30.) Blind Melon - Soup, Classic Masters
31.) Dave Matthews Band - Crash
32.) Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magick, Greatest Hits
33.) Green Day - Nimrod
34.) Bush - The Science of Things, Razorblade Suitcase
35.) Third Eye Blind - I forget the name of the cd, the one with Semi-Charmed on it
36.) Depeche Mode - The double disk single set
37.) The Cure - Disintegration
38.) Lots and Lots of Burned CDS ranging from Operation Ivy to The Beatles to Space

I would assume that if someone looked at my collection they run quickly away from me screaming, "YOU CAN'T LIKE ALL OF THAT! THEY DON'T EVEN GO TOGETHER!" Ty and I are music junkies. We have a bit of everything.

Not too long ago I had a collection of many hundred CDs, but they were stolen

I am now attempting to rebuild my collection, but it is a very slow process. Many of the songs I found by chance and most of them were in the process of being choreographed to (all my notes were stolen too, I actually put an ad in the free paper that said "to whoever stole my CDs: please feel free to keep them, all I want is my choreography notes back!" I didn't get a reply)

My growing collection has a lot of oldies (60's and 70's), some punk (Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly and Five Iron Frenzy), some swing (mostly The W's, but I have some mix stuff as well), soundtracks, and whatever I see at the used music store that I think looks interesting.

Most people that look at my music would think that more then one person owns it, but I just like a lot of different kinds of music.

LOL...10 to 12 CD's of bands/artists that very few have ever heard of before that are "projects" of my formerDom/nowRoomie...which is reason 1 he has no time to "play" with anything but his keyboards.

They'd think I was out of my mind and had the worst taste in music of anyone on the globe.

I have everything from my Shari Lewis and Dr. Seuss storybook albums, and some original Chipmunks albums from when I was a kid and could never bear to get rid of them, from my teeny-bopper days (Osmond Brothers, Jackson-5, Tony Orlando & Dawn) growing to ABBA, Barry Manilow, Neil Sedaka, Carpenters, 5th Dimension, Dusty Springfield, Gloria Estefan, Linda Rondstadt,a LOT of Christmas CD's, Broadway soundtracks, a lot of classical (the Russian composers!), a lot of "oldies" collections because that's what my band does and I have to learn the songs.

More contemporarily, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks (where did they go? the whole country now agrees with their opinion of Dubya!), Jodee Messina (ladies going through a break-up, her CD's will get you through!), Toby Keith, LeAnn Rimes, Trick Pony, Cher's Greatest, Queen's Greatest, Aerosmith's Greatest and next shopping trip, I'm going to pick up the lastest Il Divo.

Told ya.

Disturbed - all
Godsmack - all
Staind - all
Nickleback - all
The Prom Kings
3 Doors Down
3 Days Grace
Maroon 5
James Taylor
Dido - all
Sarah McLachlin - all
Celine Dion - 2 not sure which
Daredevil sdtrk
Spiderman 1st sdtrk
Elton John

That's just a sample. I leave open pockets for whatever I might be in the mood for at the time. It doesn't include any of the country I have, classics or instrumentals and classicals. People usually are stunned by the heavy metal, the rest doesn't seem to get any reaction. lol I am pretty versatile when it comes to music.
