4u2spoil -> Susan Boyle's new look (4/25/2009 11:13:06 AM)

I'd mentioned in another thread that I hoped Susan Boyle got a bit of grooming. Recently she's been photographed with trimmed and colored hair, and shaped eyebrows. I think she looks great, without looking like a completely different person. It should make it easier for people to focus on her talent for talent's sake.

Your thoughts?

~FR~

She looks... really good!

There was also rumor that she had a facelift...don't know..don't care.
buuuuuut okay no offense but I'm still not impressed, sure she looks good, well at least better, but why did she have to become a celeb so she'd start do something for herself *snort*
She sings good sure..but I think this's going to be one of those 15 min fame, at least..I'm not all over her n can't really understand the whole fuss about her.
I think all this fuss is only 'cause she's 47 years old, and looked the way she did look at the point of when she was singing.[8|]
I'm going to wait and see what the future holds.[8|]
*ducks before she gets killed*

to me...it is the classic and much loved story of an average person who proved that she is way above average when given the chance [:)]

That's why I like the new look. She's got a great voice, but I think some of it was people congratulating themselves on getting past their own shallowness. Even if no one admits that part of it, I'd mentioned before that professional entertainers pay more attention to their appearance in general (including those who aren't young, slim or extraordinarily beautiful). So if she really wants to be taken seriously as one, it was a good and necessary step.

She's got a face for radio.

LOL. I came here from some refuge from Boylemania, but I have to just admit defeat. There's no getting away from her, is there?

She's a lovely lady and I wish her the best, but we all know there's a backlash coming soon.

Seriously...what does it matter...she isn't all that great

Not sarcastic, just the way I see it

Hahahahaha.....sad but true.

Killer voice though :)

lighthearted -> RE: Susan Boyle's new look (4/25/2009 8:18:59 PM)

I think she looks much better.  as for "why now", face it, we all get into a rut now and then.  maybe seeing herself on tv gave her the impetus to want to change, spend some money on herself, things like that.

I personally don't think she looked that bad to begin with, she just looked like an "average" woman to me.  she may not look like a beauty queen but she sure has the spirit of one.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Susan Boyle's new look (4/25/2009 8:24:45 PM)

The sad thing is that because she isn't what most would call attractive, then she couldn't possibly have any talent.  Is she the best singer I ever heard? No, but she does have a voice that would be well suited for the stage.  Had she been an attractive middle aged woman, no one would have said a word.

I can't think of many singers, movie star's, etc. that don't get makeover's, surgery, etc.
Especially, when they become famous.

Who in Hollywood has not had any work done?
I don't see what the big deal is.
