I'd be a little more confident if I were you. It takes practice, but all women become easier to approach the more you do it. No one is out of my league, and I'm not intimidated by anyone. Life is too short for that. If you don't take chances, you'll spend the rest of your life wishing you had.

LH, My comment on the matter actually had nothing to do with profiles and it's something that I'm sure you've experienced from time to time.  Being known in the community has it's advantages, as well as it's drawbacks.

It's very true!  Though it boggles me, because I am sure you have the same rep of being friendly and approachable as I do...

My other comment stands, though---they have NO idea about the skeeery!

Oh, and why are you at the computer, anyway?  [8D]    (parade wave to MrP!)

It's really good to have him home.  We still make time for the computer things though.

You did hit the nail on the head with the first line of the reply.  The funny thing is, that's always the part that surprises people.  The play part, they either see that or have heard about it.  Probably because that's more exciting than, yeah, she's a really nice gal, too.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: A domme that is out of reach? (5/7/2009 3:55:50 PM)

I think the order is, flogger, cleavage, personality... [8D]

LadyPact -> RE: A domme that is out of reach? (5/7/2009 4:01:05 PM)

I think you're probably right.  I'm also thinking that might be one of those things that I have no power to change in the universe.  [:)]

this is interesting...

What are you asking here?  How does one move on from a broken relationship?  How to move on after one is rejected for a relationship?

No...he's asking someone to help him understand why a chic that's hotter than he is handsome (or hotter than his finances should justify) would be interested in him.

DarkStar....chill....

You're an average looking guy.....so what?  Women don't put the same value on looks that men do.  Chill...if she's expressed interest, accept that as a "go".

Don't worry about it.

I don't look like Brad Pitt (okay, I lied...I actually do movie double work for the guy....okay, look, I'm gonna tell you the truth....I am Brad Pitt) but....women find me attractive because of my personality.  They will you as well.

Trust me....women aren't like guys...relax.

To say nothing of your overwhelming modesty.

Dude, " how do I pick up the pieces and move on"?? It sounds like you were left at the altar, not that you had 2 nuts and She wanted three---read the posts on online and online relationships. Out of reach-- incompatability maybe, whiny sub who couldn't have Cinderella maybe--

maybe you just weren't Her "submissive material"--always a nice touch too to make the profile and posts kind of align----.

Of course, there are Dommes out there who many males subs are too intimidated by to approach.

Shouldn’t we be all intimidated? You Dommes are more intimidating than a navy seal. You’re armed to the teeth; what with all the high heal boots, tight corsets, leather gear, whips canes and floggers in each hand, chains across the chest…

Seriously now, OP you approach a dominant like you would approach any other woman, that’s what they are after all. A confident man (not a cocky one) is more attractive than the best looking man around. And if a man doesn’t think he’s good enough most women will see through it and it will push them away. So be yourself and let her see you for who you are.

No, really, I'm quite sweet.  Everybody will tell you that.  Just ask, erm, just ask, well, never mind.

<<<< is armed to the teeth in tee shirts/tank tops and comfy clothes... also known as the barefoot domina... I promise you it has nothing negative to do with my charm, majestic presence or swing. [;)]

I just love the sweet talkers.

Hello Venatrix

Do I need to ask? If attractiveness equates to sweetness then you must be one hell of a sweet lady.  And of course, lets not forget some of your posts too  [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m16.gif[/image]

dreamysubmale -> RE: A domme that is out of reach? (5/7/2009 8:29:32 PM)

LadyPact, thank you
But truth be told I’m not that confident when it comes posting in these forums (English not being my native language is the main and only reason, I think)

LadyPact -> RE: A domme that is out of reach? (5/7/2009 8:34:23 PM)

You're quite welcome.  You seem to be doing fine to Me.  Hopefully, you'll post more often and become more comfortable.

AlexandraLynch -> RE: A domme that is out of reach? (5/7/2009 8:44:19 PM)

<<<looks down at self, seeing t-shirt and jeans fetchingly accessorized with flour from the batch of bread I just made, and white athletic socks on my feet, a pair of tennis shoes lying kicked off beside the computer.

You know, Lockit, we must get our gear from the same supplier. (laugh)

SlaveBlutarsky -> RE: A domme that is out of reach? (5/7/2009 8:55:53 PM)

As a sub, I've found myself feeling a lack of confidence in approaching people that I would never feel in approaching a vanilla person. There's something about knowing someone's a Domme that embodies some feelings of insecurity in me that I just don't normally have. How do I handle it? I punch myself three times in the chest and shout 'I'M THE MAN BABY, I'M THE MAN!!!!!'

Actually I don't. I just suck it up and deal with it.  I know who I am, and I can't change who they are, so if it doesn't happen, so be it. Too many people think there's some magic bullet with interpersonal relationships. there isn't. If you present yourself well, are honest with her and there's a connection there, she's not going to care that you're inexperienced, or lacking in other things that can be easily changed.

Venatrix -> RE: A domme that is out of reach? (5/7/2009 8:56:37 PM)

Oh, aren't you kind.  That's the first time someone has made me blush since, I think, 1972.

Liar, you weren't born in 1972.

xxblushesxx -> RE: A domme that is out of reach? (5/7/2009 9:29:49 PM)

Op, it's possible to serve without being considered "less than".

Unless that's your kink, what makes you think that someone who calls themself a domme or a master is any better than one who identifies themself as a sub, slave or a switch?

I always say it's two sides of the same coin; you're all just people. Treat potential dommes as you would treat potential friends; with openness, tact and class.

(There was no offense intended to the absolutely incredible dommes and masters on these boards.) (nor to the not so incredible ones...[:D])
