You know how sometimes on swings and stuff it'll say weight limit 140 or something. I have to assume they mean one person, because very few people would total 140 with both their weights combined.

That is the weight limit for the item, if it is one person or fifteen cats! Remember also, that the ITEM has a weight limit, but so does whatever is holding that item UP. If your framework or wall attachments are not proper, it doesn't matter if the winch will haul up a ton!

FR Another consideration, YHMA, is that the stated weight load is usually for a static load -- that is, one that is still. Pushing or pulling or bouncing is gonna greatly increase the force being exerted on the structure. FYI.
