I am confused as to why it should be expected of someone to feel shame toward their country, if it is ‘evil’ to feel pride in one’s country? In response to the OP. I had originally debated asking, what part was the good news, but have come to the conclusion, if it helps in sending the wake up call, not to rely on those with perceived authority, so that people might learn to rely on themselves; then yes, could be good.
