Now, Now, Owner59.....you know very well, that if a repulican does 'whatever' it's okay, and if a president, Bush, does it ,it's okay...Nixon said it..."if the president does it, it's not illegal."

So, as all the repulicans are virtually silent about their folies, except Cheney, who as another poster theorized, is hedging his bets; shouldn't we all too, just shut up, forget about it all. I tell you what, let's all forget about the Bush years, father & Son, make believe it didn't happen, and, and...let's blame Clinton....oh hell, just the Dems et al. Those liberals. Let's blame 'OBAMA' for the 700 billion dollar bailout, from taxpayer's money. Bush, who's that.

There is a book by Vincent Bulosie, ' The Prosecution of George W. Bush for murder.' You can write for it from 'Edward R. Hamilton Bookseller.'

All just your opinion, or do you have real evidence of your claims? Your Union argument is specious, as you're confusing the editorial pages with the news pages.

The same argument can be made for Fox News, their straight news is a lot less opinion driven than their competition is even if most of their opinion guys are, well, opinionated. There was even a thread here a few weeks ago about the Fox News news anchor freaking out and banging the table yelling "THIS IS AMERICA, WE DO NOT TORTURE!!!" which is a kind of an emotional, left-of-center reaction to what was supposed to be a reasoned discussion.

I think Liberals only hate (there's that hate again) Fox News because it hasn't sold its soul to Liberalism, like all the other news networks have.

In fairness, ABC News may be an exception, as well. I have noticed an effort on their part lately to be more balanced. And the same goes for the Associated Press.

And Politico may also have a semblance of balance to it. None of this is scientific, just personal observations on my part.

Refusing to admit the obvious in that employers have all of the power when it comes to preventing any organizing workers to legally and collectively bargain for example...they obviously do not support the union voter card bill and reveal their true colors and have been doing so for decades.

The real reason of course typically, is greed as it would reduce their precious return on investment to pay a living wage with even a modicum of benefits.

What I mean by an editorial is an opinion piece, which I think is pretty clear from the title itself that they are not pretending this is a news story.

Can you think of any particular rule that might help keep such things clear?

Like, oh... say, include the word "opinion" in the title of the article, or on the page where its published? You would think that after hundreds of years of publishing there would be a few rules about such things. Wouldn't you?  [8|]

Not that there could ever be any confusion over an article of this caliber. Oh wait - did I say "article"? I meant to say editorial piece....

Yeah, I think that rule is called common sense.

Magazines like Time, Newsweek, the Weekly Standard, and the National Review all feature many articles that aren't labeled as opinion/editorial but clearly are.

You ought to refrain from putting thoughts in an entire population's head. There is a difference between hatred and immense dislike: hatred is a destructive sentiment which, personally, I try not to cultivate.

There is more to news than television networks, Sanity. There is the printed press, there is the blogosphere, there is radio - considering the obnoxious loudness of right-wing journalists and commentators, I think we can safely say that the balance in information is safe and sound.

I hate Fox (Newscorp) because I don`t like foreigners meddling in my country`s,the United States` business/politics.


That`s for Americans only.


The neo-cons are so desperate,they`ll stoop so low as to allow a foreigner provide them with a network.


Sure they might have American talking heads yapping and Americans managing it.But Fox is a foreign owned and does not have America`s best interests at heart.

Course not. Murdoch is in it for the money: he pretty much devastated the British press by being Thatcher's media ghoul, because he knew that a right-wing media makes for a better business. More lovely lolly.

Incidentally, how does Cheney, who dodged the draft and had thousands of American civilians killed under his watch, know anything about protecting the safety of this country? The guy can't even shoot straight: he was a fucking liability and he knows it. This is why he has switched to attack gear: he knows the game is up.

Like I wrote...I don't believe the Bush govt. in fact, prevented any real attacks at all. If you wish to believe it...fine. We attacked Afganistan to get Bin Laden...why ? The FBI and DOJ have not indicted Bin laden because "we just don't have the evidence" yet Bush & CO. would have us believe he was the main conspirator.

We need these alledged attacks to justify our pursuing a 'war on terror.'

kittin, you forgot Katrina.  The FEMA response to that showed clearly that Bush/Cheney had never cared whether the American people were safe.  Brown's resume was never vetted, the emergency response took four days, and the Administration blamed everyone else for their own screwups.  Katrina marked a huge turning point in public perception of the Bush administartion.
