I noticed that there was one thing missing among all these statistics and 'facts - well two - there were no projections showing life expectancy and no mention of any sort of mortality rate. I just find it strange to consider demographics and population without considering these two factors.

kittinSol -> RE: What will the world be like in the next 50 year or less? (5/15/2009 6:05:28 AM)

On a background of neo-oriental music we hear a sepulcral voice informing us that the Muslims are taking over the world. We see the map of Europe gradually darken in tint as the frightening statistics are enumerated. We are never told why it is a bad thing that Muslims have children. Nor are we informed why it requires any kind of action: it's all in the subtle implications that Muslim=scary/bad/evil. These are the same tactics neo-Nazis use. We hear of a 'meeting of 24 Islamic organisations that was held in Chicago in order to plan on 'evangelising' America (note: no details, no names, no documents). We are informed that the Muslims are taking over the world because they have more children than 'us'. The video makes an amalgamation between the Muslims and the Hispanic populations in America: if that's not blatant xenophobia, I don't know what is. After all, everybody knows that Mexican immigants worship Allah, right [8|] ? And it ends with "This is a call for action." What action, precisely?

You know, KY, you ask why it's hateful: what I find frighetning is that you have to ask in the first place. To me, and quite a lot of others, it's pretty fucking obvious.

Ice age?

And who were "they"?

The vid? trash....The vid makers?trash....

I asked what your reasoning was.  I said nothing about my observations and conclusions.

So, you really don't have any argument with the basic facts, just the way it was presented?

So some things should not be discussed? The OP said that the information in the video scared the shit out of her. If it did, then she is being honest, so why a problem with her honesty. Your comments are a tactic that is often used to squelch discussion, because I see nothing hateful or fear mongering about this.

Topics like this need to be discussed and brought out into the open. More understanding means less fear.

To the OP, there are many incorrect conclusions within that and there will always be those that do such a thing. Do need to fear a specific religion, just be careful of extremist of any ilk, whether it is religion, politics, or what have you.

"this is a call to action"

Now really...what is that statement meant to do other than to try to incite fear/hatred?

Sanity -> RE: What will the world be like in the next 50 year or less? (5/15/2009 6:14:57 AM)

I think it was a call for Christians to start evangelizing, and maybe to throw away their condoms

People that squelch discussion are dangerous. You are just as bad as any Muslim extremist, and hypocritical with the application of your morally superior attitude as well. People should always bring attention to BS like this video, so that it can be debunked, and the people that watched it given good and verifiable information.

To the OP, if you have any type of Christian background, look up the Christian-Muslim for Peace group on yahoo. Dehma, the woman who runs it is a Sufi (sect of Islam), and very knowledgable in many different religions. She can point you to any verse in the Quran that someone has twisted and show you not only what it actually means, but the application of it at the time.

It's the limited intellect thing that's dangerous to the world, not people's personal beliefs - a HUGE majority of Muslims are as peace-loving and friendly as the next person. It's people like you, who propagate fear, prejudice and hatred, who are dangerous. You're just as bad as any Muslim extremist - but from what I've read of yours, I don't think you are able to 'get' that... If you don't like the comments, block me. But I won't stop pursuing this just because it makes you uncomfortable.

Ok let`s say for argument`s sake...the demographics are correct.

What`s your (or the conservative lock-step)solution?

If it`s true,we better start making friends fast.

Your party`s "shoot`m up and hand out bibles" strategy isn`t working and only making us more and more enemies. We can`t kill our way to perfection.

As afraid of Christianity as you are kitten, wouldn't it be nice if you could show a little more sympathy, respect and understanding to those who have a distrust of Islam? After all, you and they have a lot in common, even if you're on the other side of the looking glass from one another.

YoursMistress -> RE: What will the world be like in the next 50 year or less? (5/15/2009 6:23:36 AM)

What we really need is a common enemy.  Either alien invasion (space aliens, not illegal ones) or maybe China?  If the Chinese would take on the Muslim problem, perhaps we and the Muslims could band together and fight the awful Chinese menace.  Unless the aliens invade in the mean time.  I think it's a solid plan.

subtlebutterfly -> RE: What will the world be like in the next 50 year or less? (5/15/2009 6:24:15 AM)

I guess, I should state the viewpoint from where I looked at the video. Because you have no idea what scared the shit out of me.
I thought of it this way:
First of all, I doubt the statistics are right and I think it simply is a request for christian people to fuck really 'cause they don't like being the weaker religion. I'm not religious.
People can interpret this video in whatever way they want.
I was thinking of the shariah law, if the video came to reality and there would be more effects than the simply fact that we'll have more muslims in the world, it could turn the western legal system as we know it upside down. THAT is what I find scary.
And on that note I withdraw from this discussion since I don't find any reason to justify my means further, I don't believe I should have justified them in the first place.

Now, now, holly...it's only hateful when Farakhan, the Chinese, Chavez, Hamas, or the Gush Emunim use that sort of language....you must learn to keep up![8|]

Good fear mongering Christian folk have a right to scare the crap of people...remember the crusades, the Inquisition, the genocide of tha native populations of this continent?  It's always a party when the Christian crazies get busy!!!!

*by the way, i am a Christian, and in no way support xenophobia, intolerance, and hatred of anyone based on their beliefs....that's just not how i feel Jesus wants me to roll...but that's just me[;)]

Sanity -> RE: What will the world be like in the next 50 year or less? (5/15/2009 6:26:32 AM)

It seems logical that the West will be subject to Shariah law once the majority becomes Muslim.

Why not? We'll be in Rome then, so it's as it should be.

As Sanity pointed out, this is a call to action for Christians, and made for a Christian audience.

The "call to action" is a religious call to action and faith, not a call to kill all Muslims.

Whenever someone tries to "discuss" that the Holocaust never happened ,I "squelch"the discussion.I don`t need to hear trash.

I don`t believe the OP was trying to discern the distinctions or analyze the multiple factors ,study or "discuss" the topic.

She`s trying in a cutesy way to spread fear and loathing.

And you Orion, trying to squelch us and our reactions to the OP.When does the squelching end?

What's that supposed to mean, "on the other side of the looking glass"? I'm not afraid of Christianity. Neither am I afraid of Islam. What I'm scared shitless of is ignorance and xenophobia. Trust me: I know what I speak of from very personal experience.
