How old are we talking here? You are 42, which is surely on the mature end of the scale. i am 47 and my Mistress is ..Well, just say She is shortly retiring from work. The age difference between Us/us is no greater than that between my Mother and father, though that was the other way round.
In any case, i think age matters less in bdsm relationships. You often get young male slaves serving much older Mistresses, presumably because the attraction is less about looks and having things in common than having a certain imperiousness; similarly, young Mistresses often have much older slaves, because the Mistresses are not looking at them as potential sex partners and they may make better slaves than younger males.
Incidentally, i was 12 years older than my previous Mistress!
