The girls need support and that means wearing a bra or corset most of the time or suffering the consequences of backaches. Nature was very generous with me, but gravity has not been kind!

Bras and corsets, as I'm sure anyone who buys them knows, can be quite expensive. If I am careless, then I'm going to have to purchase more of them which means that there will have to be 'less' of something else in the house. I'm the frugal sort and if I can save Sir money by taking a little extra care with personal necessities, then I try to do so.

Well, my mother never taught me about bra care, must less corset care so I thought I'd pass along some of what I've had to learn on my own and if you apply these tips maybe you can save some money for your dominant (or yourself) and use it for something little luxury or trinket instead of having to go out and spend upwards of $50 or $60 for a new bra that died before it's time and even more for an average corset.

Dryers are bra killers, literally! The heat can ruin and stretch the fabric, the inside of a dryer can tear away hooks and eyes and even melt some materials. Avoid dryers at all costs!

Washers are not as bad, but hand washing and line drying is best. If you 'must' put your bras into a washing machine, make sure that the hook and eyes are done all up the back and you wash them in cold water with mild detergent.

When you put them on the line to dry, point the cups in the proper direction and if there is an underwire, make sure it's even within the material before you let hang it. That will help the bra keep it's shape and last longer.

Don't wear the same bra two days in a row for the same reason you shouldn't put bras into the dryer. Your own body heat can weaken and stretch the material, so wear it once then wash it.

If you have the room, give your bras their own drawer. They are the enemies of socks and nylons and the two will war with one another if given half a chance with the hooks shredding and running the nylons and the nylons and socks trying to tear and bend the hooks. Those little suckers do all sorts of things to one another in the dark! Make sure the back (or front if you roll that way) are all hooked up, then fold neatly and let them stay in their separate bedrooms for longevity.

When purchasing new bras, get new measurements every time even if you think you know your size because there can be slight variations. Don't bra shop when you are on your period as you may be swollen and it can effect your sizing.

Buy good quality bras and they can last you for 12 to 18 months. Buy cheap and you'll have to buy a lot more which, in the long run, is not cost effective and is not going to save your dom or yourself $.

Just some stuff that I wish my mother had told me about 40 years ago.

I've been hand-washing my bras for years.. but they last longer if you dry them out laying flat on a towel. they keep a better shape that way as well...
