i have a mixed opinion. i appreciate those that make an effort to introduce themselves and share a little bit about their desires and persona. however, i take everything i read with a large grain of sand. i have encountered people that are quite articulate profile wise that cannot maintain that in a dialogue. some people are simply talented writers and nothing more. [:D]

in the end the profile is merely a starting point. think of it as a resume of sorts. you give it a glance and see if something jumps out at you. there may be moments when you're curious and want to speak with those that have provided limited information and other times you won't. i'm not in the habit of perusing them myself but when i stumble across a very nice one i usually will pay a compliment to the author.

Do tell - Do Tell

Can you elaborate?  What were the circumstances when you decided the articulate person was simply a good writer? How were you communicating with them during this dialogue?  (Phone, Email, RL, Chat?)

Was benefit of the doubt extended?  Possibly they were having a bad day or you made them nervous.

I am receptive to hearing from others on this as well.

And there are D/s relationships that are not.
