So, next week on June 11th I am leaving on the first "long" vacation I've taken since my divorce. My nephew, my brother and I are going to load the motorcycles up in the trailer and truck on up to the Minnesota State Line. At that point, we will unload them and meet up with two of my cousins on their bikes. Their wives will join my sister-in-law in the truck and we will head up to Wisconsin on Friday the 12th...Fond Du Lac---Friday night fish fry...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. On Saturday, the 13th, we'll bike on into Cumberland and relax for Saturday and Sunday and then on Monday the 16th, we'll head the bikes and additional cars over to Duluth to meet up with the guy I teach classes with (and his wife). We'll spend Monday there and Tuesday, take a ride along the bigggggggggggg Lake before heading back to Cumberland. On Thursday the 18th, we'll bike and car caravan down to the Twin Cities to attend the M.S.R.A. "Back to the 50's" car show---10,000 hot rods, kustoms, street rods, rat rods all up to 1964 in one place, the Minnesota State Fair Grounds. On Saturday the 20th, I will have to...reluctantly...leave the show and head back. Since my brother and his family won't be leaving until the following Monday, I'll be biking back. I'll be heading down 35 South until I hit 80 West, going through Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado. If anyone along that route...dominant or submissive... would like to meet up for coffee on Saturday or Sunday, let me know. How about the rest of you? Any big plans for this summer? Anything that...like me...is a big change from what you've been doing each year?

We're going on a mini vacation/road trip. Originally, we were going to drive to Paris until Sir found out that it was 36 hours round trip and decided that was way too much road and not enough trip, so we're flying instead. Tomorrow we're going to do some shopping for the trip then head over to Estoril casino to give them our nickles in the slot machines, then Sunday will be for packing. We leave Monday and we'll be there until Thursday, fly home to spend the night in Cascais at our place, then Friday we are driving down to Algeceries (about 6 hours from Cascais), hopping a ferry across the Straight of Gibraltor and spending Friday and Saturday night in Ceutu (technically in Northern Africa but still owned by Spain). We're going to day trip across the border to Morocco on Saturday, then be back home by Sunday evening. It's Sir's first extended time off (9 days in a row.. yippee!) since we've moved to Portugal, so I'm really excited to get to spend some quality AND quantity time with him. Have a great trip, CD - sounds like a blast! PS - when you are at the MN State Fair Grounds .. best to avoid the macaroni & cheese on a stick - just saying. [:'(]

have a blast and stay safe. i'll be doing the same damn thing i've done the previous two summers, recuperating! this is really getting to be a drag, lol! i wanted my tomato plants and cukes and peppers and all that this summer, but can't do it again this season. next year?? maybe?? PM

taking the UMs and my stepmother on a road trip, either up the coast of CA to San Francisco or to Yosemite. haven't decided which yet.

Boy, I spotted this one late. CD, if you're still online, you might want to check your mail on the other side. I'm going to be at that car show; I never miss it. I'm planning on doing a lot of camping this summer, more than I've been able to do the last few summers when i had a 70-hour a week job. I'll take at least one camping/canoeing trip a month, and in between them I'm planning at least 2 trips back out to California - one in July, to LA, and the other toward the very end of summer, to the San Francisco area. I'm going to catch both Yosemite and Folsom on that trip, and take about a week to lounge around Monterey and do some hiking on the Big Sur coast. Honestly, I think that's about all I'm going to have time for. That alone ought to keep me pretty busy. Summers always seem to be shorter than you'd expected them to be.
