After a long lasting back injury and the side effect of gaining weight, I have decided something drastic must be done.

I am supposed to start the optifast program in about two weeks.  I have studied a lot about it and was referred over by my cardiologist, so I feel safe in this as my decision.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried it?  Did you find success?  Is it something you would recommend to others?

thanks!

Optifast will work but you have to be very diligent!  The major problem with optifast is the post diet program appears to be a little weak.

Thank you for the reply.

I know that used to be a problem, but all I have on it now is really good.  There are meetings you can go to every week if you want to help stay on track.

Just got the news insurance is covering it all..so I start on Monday!!

@sleazy
I had to do optfast prior to my lapband placement. Get creative. You an use sugar free jello powders to flavor the vanilla shakes - which will really open up a variety.
That was the hardest part across the 14 days I was on liquids - chocolate, and vanilla being my only shake flavors.

The protein bars that came with this optifast program were good - but I only opted for the chocolate and came to the realization that Yes, you can have too much chocolate.

I traded and got some peanut butter optibars - and those made a nice mix.

I never got to try the oat optibars - but I've heard that they're not bad.

Good luck
