It is hard to know for sure... it did seem to all be triggered by the orgasm... One moment i felt fine, physically then after a huge rush of sensations etc... my body just crashed. I am finding that i am a little apprehensive about having another one that tense. i will definitely try the water idea... hopefully that is needed - thanks for comments :) It is actually possible that this was a stress response. Orgasm can be a profound stress-releaser, and if your body has been holding a great deal of stress, that can have an impact on the immune system. It's possible that, after your earth-shattering response, your body sort of 'hiccuped', and you went through something that researchers call the "let down effect" -- it's the same series of responses that cause someone to get sick right when they have time off for vacation. Basically, the body has been holding itself tense for so long that the release of the tension also causes the immune system to 'misfire' and causes an inflammatory response in the body that allows quiescent infections to become active in a very short period of time. It also comes with things like rapidly fluctuating blood sugar levels, and flares in chronic illnesses like arthritis, fibromyalgia, and MS, etc. I wouldn't worry to much about future instances, unless you are in a situation where you're going long periods between orgasms. Just make sure you're getting enough sleep, and are well hydrated. Also, having a light protein snack available for afterwards can sometimes help ameliorate some of the blood-sugar issues that can creep up. Dame Calla
