I love J'adore and Pure Poison by Dior. These two scents are very sensual for me. And I also like Sheer by Stella McCartney very much (oh, this wonderful, rosy smell...^-^)

Most perfumes give me a headache; especially the cheap ones!  I think it's the alcohol & other solvents they're dissolved in.  What's wrong with a woman's natural scent??

Nothing worse than smelling a woman before she arrives or well after she's turned the corner at the end of the hallway!

IMO, moderation is best, and if worn, I greatly prefer the perfumes that have a more natural musk-like scent to them.

Yes, thank you Ms. Flutter. There are a couple of frangrances my mom looks for but cannot find in the shops now, will check those sites for them.

Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs Daisy
Versace Bright Crystal

I wear my fragrance in my hair (saves on drycleaning) and my body heat 'activates' it.

note: when the local stores no longer carry fragrances I like, I can usually get them on Beauty Encounter or PerfumeEmporium

Thanks for the links, I found my all time favorite (and discontinued) Feminite Du Bois by Sisheido...a fabulous musky woody floral scent that makes all go mmmmm

If a woman is clean, healthy, and addiction-free... I'd prefer to smell her.

But thanks for the effort anyway, Ladies. It's the thought that counts.

My guess would be that, in most cases, we're wearing scent to please ourselves, not making an effort to pander to someone else's desires.

Well,. in general men's sense of smell doesnt play a large a part in intimacy as it does for women. That being said, I am an exception to that. I love perfumes that make me go, "Wow! I want more!" and I suddenly get the urge to go spelunking in some cleavage hehe. The perfumes I love on women are pink sugar which smells like cotton candy and love spell by VS.

Nothing like pure body chemistry.... not one is alike nor can it be duplicated.

I do however like clean scents.... honeysuckle and jasmine are my favorite flower scents...

Lotions:
Johnson's Baby Lotion & Oil
B&BW - Moonlight Path, Honeysuckle

Day
D&G - Light Blue
Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy
Alfred Sung - Shi and Pure
Marc Jacobs - Daisy
Guerlain Chamade
RL -Eternity

Flirty -
Vera Wang - Truly Pink
Versace - Bright Crystal
Lair Du Temps - Nina Ricci
Would love to try more French perfumes

Romantic -
Donna Karen - Cashmere Mist
Island - Michael Kors

Night -
Gucci - Gucci and Envy Me
Chanel No. 5 (I've had this for at least 10 years and no real signs of heavy use... all you need is a dab)

I like the way putting on perfume makes me feel - like I am preparing for battle in a way.  Or at least, preparing to smell perfumey if someone is close enough.  My Mother shared with me about the way spritzing on her Halston made her feel - basically is was when she was feeling most loving toward herself, most accepting, most deserving of love.  It's a declaration "I deserve to smell this good" and also a declaration to a potential lover "You deserve for me to smell this good."  I find it arousing to have a potential lover (sub, whatever...) wear a scent or otherwise smell like soap or shaving cream or shampoo or something that says "I have prepared my body for you."  It's flattering really.

The Boy has weird BO, and sweat that doesn't wash out of anything, and it may be kind of gross to describe, but I love his funny funk.  It's not really an ugly smell - just obviously a body smell.  I like when he is all clean and pink and soft haired when he comes to bed after his shower, but I also like the way he smells right off of work.  Before he came to live with me, I kept one of his gunky t-shirts in the bed with me, and loved how it made my heart feel when I smelled him and missed him.

You're very welcome Cat and I hope to do just that.

As for the scents, I have a handful more in my arsenal, but I find myself purchasing those I mentioned over and over again... or at least until they become obsolete. They seem to work well with my body chemistry.

What bothers me most is when women have foul body odor and mix it with cheap scents. Immediate nausea and headache... Even worse are those that come out smelling like an 80 year old woman with a very heavy, musky "GoodWill" kind of a smell... (no offense to the seniors!).... although my sassy Grandmom swears by DKNY and Island and smells fabulous!

As far as BO is concerned.... my Dom smells absolutely divine after a long day. Now you have me plotting on begging him for his undershirt or underwear... I think I want the latter..... I enjoy him that much.

Love your post blacklily :) The power of scent is awesome. My ex and I would go to C.O. Bigelow and smell everything as a date. LOL.

Another good flirty is Ms. Dior Cherie ;) It smells like strawberries and caramel corn.

blacklily speaks truth - cheap scents weld my contacts to my eyeballs and takes my breath away.
I have a similar reacton to anything vanilla - it has to be one of the most awful odors on the planet.

Generally, when I want a scent, I either wear a mix of Dragon's Blood and Sandalwood essential oils or Clinique Happy. The Happy is fun and light enough not to aggravate my allergies. The Dragon's Blood-Sandalwood mix is one hell of an olfactory aphrodisiac. It certainly makes my husband amorous...and, he can't even consciously smell it!

I wear something called "green tea therapy" its a body mist, and it smells incredible, especially when my body heat intesnifys it.
