I think this split amongst the Ayatollahs is proof that not every Iranian sees the US and UK as the great satan. Rafsanjani always came across to me as one of the more moderate leaders, in his dealings with the outside world.

I wonder if switching our locations to Iran as you say will make it any harder to get through airports some time in the future.

Well the demonstrations still seem to be continuing. It seems to be the middle classes who want change. Let`s not forget it was this same group that were a mainstay in deposing the Shah. The strikes in 1978 by the Bazaaris and other groups of worker brought the country to a standstill. Eventually the Isalamic groups gained power, but intially the drive was by the middle classes. This is the same as is taking place today, voilence against these groups didnt work in 79 and wont work now.

The Shah was toppled even though neither the military or the peasants were intitially against him

In the past I have been a critic of Bush...but the actions of the evil empire the last few weeks is proving him right. The educated people of Iran MUST be embarrassed to hear the drivel of Ahmadinejad. AND the Dear leader of N. Korea seems determined to etch his name in history even if it kills millions.
