I am curious, I see many posts that talk about soldering on collars, jewelry, reminders of the relationship--what do you do if Your one has to have medical tests? or do many of you not solder jewelry on? And what do you do about PA piercings if there is an ER visit?

and what do you do about piercings and airport security?

I can't speak to the soldered jewelry from experience, but in the ER, or with the EMTs, anything that must be removed will be removed. If it doesn't lend itself to easy removal (captive bead rings, barbells, etc.) they will likely use their ring cutter (a neat little tool) to cut them off.

As for a PA, I get a bad feeling even thinking about having a soldering iron there. Most PAs are closed with a bead in one way or another. If the ER needs it out for diagnostic reasons or for a catheter, it will come out pretty easily. If it's a big city ER, a PA is likely not the strangest thing they've ever seen.

I have 40 piercings, all but a couple in implant grade stainless steel, and they do not set off airport metal detectors here in the great white north. Stainless steel is a pretty non-magnetic metal (ever tried refrigerator magnets on a stainless steel fridge?) and does not seem to disturb the magnetic fields in the detector. Bit of a disappointment really...I was looking forward to the complimentary strip search.

Well I have outer labia rings that I got for my owner. I've never had a problem going through airport security. I haven't had a whole lot of medical tests, just the usual blood tests occasionally... annuals to the gyn and thats never been an issue. For piercings there are these filler/plastic jewelry that you can purchase if you need to remove your piercing for medical reasons. And it will keep the hole open so you can then just put the original jewelry back in.

I have never had any problems with my piercings and airport security check points.. hehe had to go through them alot when I was working there.. yep big disappointment that they didn't get the big beep!
As for medical test... even for X-rays you don't have to take them out.. you just let them know you have them (like they can't see them <weg>)
If it is an ER visit where the person is hurt, bleeding etc.. ya they might take them out for safety reasons, but usually only if they have to.

They probably would cut if off if they had too. i remember when i had surgery a couple of monthes ago they asked me to remove my tongue piercing and my collar. Well i couldn't remove my collar myself because Master had the key. SO Master whipped out Her keys right there and unlocked it..LOL!! i loved that..hehe, it made me all giddy.

I have 19 piercings and have never had trouble with any security system, even the local courthouse. As far as an ER visit, if it's bad enough that I can't take out my own jewelry and they have to cut them off, then the piercings are the least of my worries.

Soldering collars, while a wonderfully romantic idea just doesn't hold enough interest to actually do it. For me a lock is fine.

my piercings and i have 5 (3 below and nipples) have never stopped me at the airport. You can take them out and put in acrylic for tests.

It takes a lot of metal to set off a metal detector. I piercea regular client of mine to have 16 cock piercings and he never set of a detector - and I suspect his genitals sound like a key chain.

A PA ring is easily removed in an ER room or anywhere else - just a matter of popping out the captive bead and sliding out the ring.
