No worse than spilling soda on your shirt......leaves the same stain. I should know....[&o]

Yes, but you should really be comparing it to pit stains or when you're wearing white and are visited by 'your lil friend' as soda comes from outside, not inside.

No, it's not embarrassing, not if one breastfeeds immediately, without worrying how it may impact the heightened sensitivities of certain members of the public :-) .

Perhaps it's you that have a problem with it. Have you ever wondered why the thought of nursing mothers affected you so badly?

I know you asked this of Loki but I felt compelled to answer since it hit me hard.............I have a hang up w/my own body & it seems to have transferred to any type of nudity whether the nursing mom is obvious or not just the fact I know what she's doing.  Make sense?

I've not seen a work typed by you that shows you've relaxed your stance. Obviously you believe the same as you did in the beginning. Why on earth would I change my opinion???

I have not changed my stance, but I am not expressing shock and outrage over others' stances, either. And the ones who initially got defensive with me have relaxed and are now discussing things rationally. When you're ready to do that, let me know.

Lucylastic -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 10:58:17 AM)

Embarrassing? maybe the first couple of times,  but once you realise you cant stop it, its natural and hardwired, you learn to live with it.
However most women learn to deal with embarrassing things after the first childbirth, along with piles, swollen breasts,   waddling, stretch marks, stress incontinence and other issues, ,let alone internals, and pushing out a watermelon with all the attendants surrounding you.being sewn up like a ragdoll, is really fun when people talk to your gaping swollen  bruised torn vagina like its an echo chamber
Embarrassment just doesnt come into it

Ha!!! I knew there was something Freudian going on there - you're scared of what comes from the inside. That's a very interesting piece of information.

Well, unless you are discussing adult babies here (this is a bdsm site after all) - mouth health isn't really part of the equasion.

Oh I know. I'm just sayin'.

But your "just sayin'" is what you base your discussion/arguement on.  If it's not true then what?

Please see posts 26 and 38 on page 2. As this has been addressed already.

No it isn't embarassing. There are two solutions that prevent any embarassment. Pads that go in the bra to soak up any leakage and feeding.

Do those solutions always work? Let's ask the women who accidentally wear white during 'that time' and see if they still feel embarrassed.

A stains a stains a stain.  Who other than you knows whether it's from these............[sm=flash.gif]
or this...................[sm=chug.gif]

I'm guessing your shirts are Spic & Span clean?  If not, where did the stains come from?
Prove it.  Only you know for sure.

Sorry to have derailed the topic...........back on track with the next response.

Yes, it makes complete sense. It's personal fear that gets projected on to others.

The solution is within you. I hope you'll agree with me that Loki's suggestion that nursing mothers shouldn't leave the homestead so they don't offend the sensitivities of those that are scared of a harmless (and rather beautiful) aspect of motherhood is presposterous though :-) .

What a mis-guided assessment. I have no fears. I was simply saying you should compare stains with similar fluids.

Most definitely! It's the neanderthal mentality that thinks women should be isolated when they're on their period.

sirsholly -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 11:03:19 AM)

you can dress to prevent any "accidents". certain fabrics and colors are better at hiding leaks.

The point is that since the initial comparrison between feeding and pissing was kinda moot to begin with, an equally moot counterpoint can be used.

Actually, I believe I already have. 'Twas you who twisted the answer into some generic psycho-analysis of me.

The kind of fluids that you have when you get "your lil friend" during "that time".
