Good morning! This is so way off topic but I am really getting conflicting answers on the web. I bought an antique pearwood table with a removable rose marble top. Awesome condition-no scratches or rings..older couple going into nursing home. How do I keep it as clean? I know no bleach or lemons or windex but plain water does not sound right either. It is sealed/smooth. It came with a Victorian sofa, a Ladies AND a Gentlemans chair-all newly upholstered about 5 years ago. All four pieces for $600 and yes the ums are NOT sitting on them! lol Very truly, Zechriel

For the marble, make a mixture of vinegar and water---that's what they use to keep chandeliers clean, vinegare works wonders, cleans well and provides the shine you need. This may help: http://www.versatilevinegar.org/usesandtips.html

Im moving in with you! Is friday ok? I use baking soda for everything. Cleaning silver- pots and pans, coins, my teeth, and to kill ants. $0.43 a box.

Never never clean marble with anything acidic. I use soap and water. Acids eat into the top and will etch it. Go buy a cleaner for Marble before you ruin it.

best advice is once you have as clean as you can get it.....cover it with glass!! then it will always be protected [;)]

Ruin it? I got the stuff laying out in my yard. (seriously...got it from freecylce) The whole point of quality is that it doesn't ruin.

If there is a place near you that makes and specializes stone counter tops or and/or marble flooring and ask them. Any material which is acidic will gradually etch the marble over time. Having your marble table top sealed will preserve the beauty of the stone and guard against acid damage

Might that crimp the venues- for hot lurid body contact tho? ?? In ones home- ... body fluids could expel/explode/the marble could crack- tho- I suppose a person could crack and then loose the beauty or quantity of the marble(s). :-D~~~ ;-0
