I met quite a few people who had worked on the ranch too. He was not well liked by many people. But if he came to the Santa Maria mall it was a media event and security situation. quote:
ORIGINAL: Mercnbeth quote:
...I have mixed feelings about his passing, having lived in Santa Barbara County for many years and witnessed the side show of the most recent trial on the evening news... quite true, Vendeval. sharing a "backyard" with him when he lived at Neverland was pretty wierd... over the years he was running Neverland, this slave met a lot of people that worked for him in some capacity... before his arrest and trial, this slave had the opportunity to petition him to help out the youngones in his own community on behalf of a rural school with limited funds and a broken down bus. there was no response from him or his camp. he did very little to endear himself to the local community he lived in. it was quite a suprise to learn they found 12 people in Santa Maria who hadn't either worked for him or had a family member or friend that did.
