pahunkboy -> Fake azz liberals! and a follow up (6/25/2009 6:26:47 PM)

Prove to me, that Obama is NOT George Bushes 3rd term.   Prove to me that when the Dems took over congress that they "changed" the Bush azz mess!

Now to conservatives, why should a liberal or even a moderate listen to anything you say on this after Bush "restored dignity to the white house"

I view the left and the right as both flawed and bent on the left right thing...as a result the country is going down the tubes.

So- where do we go from here?

Is any type of a clean up possible?

If things turn into unrest- which side are you on?    Who is the group- how will you respond- what is your deal?

Do you really think the left right thing will continue on to 2010 and to 2012?

What do you base your opinion on?

And lastly would you bet your life on the reply to my inquiry.

Well,

Obama made one sector of the economy strong:   Firearms.   Can't say the same for Bush.  (Bush increased the need for spyware catchers)

Yea and he is going to create thousands of jobs for people in the Detroit area... I know this because he promised he would.

Bush had heard of the Weimar Republic.  Check the air in your wheelbarrow tire.

Is that before or after he razes the city?

Change....nobody thought to put a modifier on it, like "GOOD Change" now did they?  Or see if it was acting as a noun or verb?    And if a noun, was it just the coins left in your wallet after all the new taxes come into play?

Riddle me this?
Is there such a thing as a fake azz conservative?

Bush II and Governator Girly-man come quickly to mind...

Sanity -> RE: Fake azz liberals! and a follow up (6/26/2009 6:08:23 AM)

Bush wanted to drill for oil and allow industry to expand the nations energy base in many other ways, he basically wanted affordable energy for everyone, so everyone would prosper. Obama believes in a regressive Global Warming energy tax scheme so punishing that eventually it will bankrupt us. The Democrats are almost set to send him this, the largest tax increase in our history, and he is eager to sign it.

Louve00 -> RE: Fake azz liberals! and a follow up (6/26/2009 6:32:37 AM)

All I can say is....suck it up.  You have 3 1/2 more years of it...possibly 7 1/2.  He couldn't leave anymore a mess than he was left with.  And if he can...well, we can discuss those blunders then.  And as Bush....he will find a way to leave a great legacy behind for himself to be proud of....rest assured of that!

Mezrem -> RE: Fake azz liberals! and a follow up (6/26/2009 6:52:30 AM)

Yep he wanted to drill... good for him. Trouble is he and the other GOP memebers spent money like it is made by magic. Few left or right want to take on the fact that our country is being flooded by illeagle immigrants who are taxing our support systems to the point they are about to melt down.

There are plenty of stones to be thrown at members of both parties. We can only hope that with the next eletions that we run some of the folks who are there out.. and get in new blood who will listen to the people.

Sanity -> RE: Fake azz liberals! and a follow up (6/26/2009 7:05:21 AM)

As far as spending money we don't have goes, Obama is fast outpacing anything Bush did. Obama's making Bush look like an amateur at that game...  hence TheHeretic's comparison between where we are headed and where the Weimar Republic ended up.

We do need to elect a real Conservative, and soon - I'll give you that. Your point that George W. Bush was far too Liberal is an accurate one.

Yes he can. A lot more.

At least we don't have "Grandpa Munster" and "Caribou Barbie" to contend with. I read a great report the other day projecting what would have happened if McCain had implemented his proposed policies on the economy. Second great depression anyone? So far, the banks haven't seized up, and Detroit has a second chance at getting it right. The Iraq pull out continues, and the closeure of America's anti-constitutional Bastille, GITMO, is happening, but taking far longer than we'd hoped. Healthcare is being worked on. The stimulus is out there, and should be starting to be implemented by the fall. My taxes are being cut while those of rich assholes' are going up. He's already laid policy to not touch the gun nutcases weapons. (Those folks who paniced about that are just easily manipulated sheep, who listen just a little too closely to GOP extremist talking heads.)

I'm happy as a clam!

We do not really know what McCain policies would have been. As I recall, he was supporting bank bailout as well. Not all economists agree with the approach. Obama got about twice the financial sector contributions compared to McCain and obviously banks got their man in the White House. It is too early to cheer the policies. On personal level, time can be won using a credit card. The same applies to macroeconomics. Massive borrowing and spending will bite hard in near future if Obama fails to implement meaningful economic reforms. I see no sign of it. The same applies to car companies: bailing them out may lead to much worse result (loss) than going through normal bancrucies and liquidation.

Wow, a report? Are you sure? Maybe it was an article? Reports are usually an account of something.

We are not out of the woods yet, especially since the projections used for the stimulus will not be met this year. That means the tax revenue will not be there, and the deficit will be larger than projected. Everything is still pretty fluid. The problems that have occurred may not have a solution other than a huge reset, like a great depression.

The banks would never have really seized up, as anyone that was in power would have been advised properly to prevent a complete failure. Now how well it is handled varies, and we are still watching as it unfolds. As far as Detroit, they are being chiseled away and sold off. Their power is being split up, and what is left will be propped up. I doubt there will be much change as the high end execs do not want to reduce their profit, and the unions do not want to reduce benefits or wages. At least not enough to be truly competitive. Personally I no longer buy American made cars, as I would rather have something better built and with a better warranty.

The Iraq pull out continues, and the closure of America's anti-constitutional Bastille, GITMO, is happening, but taking far longer than we'd hoped.

There are actually many Iraqi's that dread the day of pull out. Many are starting to believe that it may be too much, too soon. Personally I do not care, fuck Iraq and get our military out of there. Gitmo will close, and I have had a problem with events at Gitmo. I still have problems with Obama saying that some detainees may be kept indefinitely without due process.

quote:

Healthcare is being worked on.

Yeah and wait to see what happens to small business when the proposed plan goes through. Obama said to leave small business alone, but the sharks are circling too much and not taking his lead.

quote:

The stimulus is out there, and should be starting to be implemented by the fall.

And what exactly is the effect it is having or will have? I believe someone was showing polls recently, but has anyone seen the confidence poll on this Great Stimulus package?

I missed something, and do not mind admitting ignorance to something. Can you show me where the tax cut is?

quote:

I'm happy as a clam!

Yeah most clams are happy right before the bake. They never see it coming.

Everyone needs to keep their eyes open. Things may get better, or they may get worse. Do not allow anything to lull us into a false sense of anything. There has not been a lot of big change on the fundamentals that need to change, which is how our government works and holding them responsible. I am in agreement that the differences between the two parties are not that big, and in fact they continue to show there really is only one party and that is the corporatist party.

Has anyone ever looked into how many politicians had AIG in their portfolio?

Much of what is going on is smoke and mirrors. Obama may really want change, but it is doubtful the Dem inner circle will allow it. It took about 14 years for the Reps to gain and lose power, because they did not hold to what they have promised, and I do not see the Dems doing anything different.

The hell he can't... lets hope someone you love over the age of 60 doesn't need  medical screening or testing in 2011 because they may find out the will have to wait 9 months for a slot and die first.
