sweetsub41 -> reasons for leaving... (7/7/2009 9:04:03 PM)

hello to A/all!  i have been in a relationship with my Dom for going on a year now.  W/we are considering
taking O/our relationship to the level of Master/slave.  i am firm in the grasp of the differences bewtween
sub and slave.  the one question that seem to linger on my mind is...what might cause a Master to leave his
slave? in O/our particular relationship W/we view the commitment to one another to that of marriage.  my
sole reason for posting is to gain knowledge and perspective.  thank you for your time!

It's not working for them? Why do nilla relationships fall apart? There are a million reasons, there is no difference in this then in the "outside" world.

I would have said that for any Master to just up and leave a slave is reprehensible. If there are any reasons for a Master to wish to move on and leave a relationship the first thing would be to discuss the matter with his slave/s and then to formally release them. To just walk away is cowardice and unworthy of any Master with two exceptions.
  1. The Master is dead, comatose or otherwise incapacitated.
  2. The Master is incarcerated. Even then he should be able top release a slave even if it be via writing or his lawyer.

The reasons can be varied, they can be anything vanilla, as Mike said...

I have left a couple submissives because they got to a point where they didn't want to go further in for their own comfort I could have manipulated them into going deeper, giving more, or whatever, but I didn't want to work at it with them. If I was not compelled to push and they were not compelled to give me more, why stay.?! I brought this up because it goes beyond what most vanillas deal with I think. Not so much the giving more, but what they are being asked to give.

I commend you for taking this advancement in status seriously. As I am sure you have or will learn, there are many that don't. Giving yourself completely to a man that doesn't understand or know what he is getting is foolish in my opinion. Congratulations.

Dolf

The biggest reason that -any- relationship ends is because of mounting incompatibilities:

Incompatible goals
Incompatible communication levels
Incompatible degrees of honesty, intimacy, affection, or commitment
Incompatible levels of household or personal cleanliness
Incompatible food choices
Incompatible sex drives or interests
etc...

In the end, the reason people leave is because they can't come to an agreement or compromise on something that is important enough to them that they can't let it go. It doesn't matter whether it's a Master/slave relationship, a husband/wife relationship, or a friend/friend relationship.

"we view the commitment to one another to that of marriage".....which is exactly is it should be. I sounds like you're in a great relationship, stick with it [:D]

As to the reasons a Master might leave a slave, I think it's been covered by other posts......there could be any one of a million and one different reasons, just like in any other type of relationship.

The answer lies soley between you and the man in question.

There are many reasons why an owner might leave his or her property. Much of it depends on the relationship itself and what the partners decide upon.

Whatever reasons you had before, being M/s changes nothing
