Good one, Rob! I've been following the FSM for about a year now... I wonder if the head of the organization is getting anywhere with the pirate ship?

I totally understand that you are not a Believer, I just want to know who you are praying to?

Good morning!
True, I did not think nons prayed..but I guess the  "Oh God, Jesus, Christ!! Help me, oh God"-s one can hear while playing does kinda imply that they indeed ARE, :: chuckles::

I am a pagan-I believe in the power of the great energy that permeates everything. That energy that creates or destroys whole universes and systems. Then to put that awesome power into a "thing" or "being" that our simple human minds can relate or comprehend instead of blowing our minds apart into oblivion, it takes on the form of Gods, Goddesses, etc. Different ones at different times in history for different peoples and cultures. By whatever name the person needs to call it or whatever form it manifests as. My personals are Bast and Sekhmet (for a female relationship) and an old Jewish rabbi (for male relationship) I feel they challenge me to do my best, to make them proud so I use any religion/magickal system I need to accomplish my goals. I could digress but basically, I  adhere to the "disco ball threory"-
All of them are equal and needed to create the ball and they work really well together as a ball but they can appreciated on their own as a single piece of glass. But they have much more power as the ball.
::laughs:: May the force be with you!
Love,
Zechriel

Wow, I had no idea that unbelievers prayed. I'm gobmsacked. I have made it a habit of saying Thank Bob, or Bob Damn, For the love of Bob, or whatever other swearing epithet happens to fly out of my mouth at any given time. This to my closest friends is quite funny as Bob is the name of my vibrator. So uhhmm IF I were  the believing/praying sort I suppose I'd be praying to my vibe?

Just saw Davans post, I agree to the self soothing part I suppose although I don't practice it. When the "Bible belt" at works says they are praying for me, I smile and respond, Good thoughts never hurt anyone. So I suppose I see it as that.

I don't.  Even if there is a God, it seems so incredibly obvious that he does not muck about in human affairs.  He does not suspend the laws of the universe for the benefit of any individual.  People get sick.  People die.  Tragedies strike.  Planes crash.  God does not step in to pull drowning children out of a pool.  Whenever anything good happens, God gets the credit.  When bad things happen, it was never his fault.  Or he works in "mysterious ways".  I gotta get his PR machine.

WHO are you praying to?
to the air? to the ground? to other human beings? to the man in the moon? aliens? satan? grasshoppers?
seriously,who?[/font]

If an atheist said they were "Praying for someone." I'd simply take it as a common form of expression in which they actually mean "I'm thinking of you"

Similarly many people call themselves the devil’s advocate and some cut of their noses to spite their faces.

Nobody reads anything into this.

I have a question for those that are non-believers, atheists, etc.
When you pray, or say you are praying....Who are you praying to?

I have wanted to ask this for a long time.

I see many here that go to great lengths to explain that they do not believe in GOD, there
is no GOD, etc. on and on until the break of dawn.

Then I turn around and read where these same people tell others, they are praying for them.
WHO are you praying to?
to the air? to the ground? to other human beings? to the man in the moon? aliens? satan? grasshoppers?
seriously,who?

Why settle for that? You will probably be able to write off a sybian as a medical expense in the early days of nationalized health care bureaucracy.
