I don't see how the Embem looks gothic at all but of course you're entitled to your opinion. However my post reffered to those who stated they did not know of ANY public BDSM symbol. And in fact the original poster stated nothing about a symbol that differentiated between Dom/me and sub etc they just stated they thought there should be a public symbol showing one had an interest in BDSM. I also stated WHY I thought the other methods would be eneffective. Bandanas can get people into troube with gangs which is why I am not doing the whole flagging thing, that will get you shot in Savannah in some areas. Anklets are worn by everyone and their cousin's uncle where I'm from, so wearing one on your left or right ankle is not going to give you any indecation of someone who's into BDSM. Rather someone who likes to go to the beach or surf shops. While D/s is a big part of BDSM there are other sects and what about switches? I think a general symbol is what the topic was about which is why I've been shooting whicever ideas I think wouldn't be reasonable. If we wanted really specific symbols I think it would just get too confusing. we'd need ones that said if you were sadist, mascohist, sub, Dom/me, the list goes on. I think the emblem works as a general hey maybe you should come and get to know what I'm into versus trying to tell people everything about you by what you wear. Again I can understand that some people may want to find a different way to say hey I'm into BDSM just like I'm sure some gay people don't like the rainbow flag.
