I am new to the site and I am so far enjoying it, but I am surprised at the number of women, who have contacted me that do not bother to read my profile and that do not have any pertinent facts about themselves in their profiles.
Are they:
lazy? (Who would want a lazy sub?)
just playing?
in some third world country hoping to scam me out of money?
clueless?
stoned?
just looking for a quick, meaningless, real or cyber hook-up?
other options?

I have emailed them a few basic questions back and for the most part they fail to answer back at all or fail to answer back coherently.

I know that for a while, my profile was blank because I wasn't really sure what to say about myself.  And then again at another point recently at the end of a relationship because I wasnt sure if I wanted to dust myself off and try again.

As for them answering your questions, I got nothing.  I usually try to answer questions to the best of my abilities, or simply flat out say "I don't know".

All of the above?  Everyone has their own reasons for not doing it, I suppose you would have to ask them.

It is their profile—they get to write on it or not because they have that choice!  They can write drivel, leave it blank, write profound paragraphs, lie or be honest, pick whatever label they want for themselves, be positive or negative, be rude or polite…because…they…can!
It is their in-box—they get to decide if they answer or not, who to respond to and how, because….they…can![:D]

Yeah, I'm with Wyld on this one. If they purport to be (a) female & (b) they don't read your profile & (c) they don't seem to be capable of having a conversation about 'vanilla' topics, my bet is that they are hustlers looking to get guys thinking with their dick in hopes of prying money loose . . . . . . & they probably aren't really chicks, either, not necessarily . ... .

Oh great, yet another one of these threads. Can't we just make these a daily feature of these boards and have done with it?

Or better still for the complete 'Happy Shopper' experience I suggest a revamp for this site and a new section called TrolleyMe - the online sex and kink superstore.

We could have different sections and aisles - Doms, Subs, Femsubs, Old Guard Masters, Leather Goddesses, Princess Subs, Goreans, Married Subs, Fetishists, Poly Couples, Domestic Slaves, Tranny Admirers, Sissies, and so on.

Everyone would be illustrated with detailed profiles and clearly labelled, e.g. 'fat free', 'biological', 'ecological', 'not so logical', 'extra horny', 'extra kinky', 'export', 'import', and so on.

There could be features, special offers and promotions just like any superstore:

'3 for 2' - for those into poly
'comes fully equipped' - for those into casual play
'buy one get one free' - for those who like a bit on the side
'buy now pay later' - for those bitching about tributes
'trade in' - for those unhappy with their current partner
'slight defect' for those who swear a lot, fart, smoke, or tend to fall asleep during sex
'clearance lines' for those doms and subs who dribble, vomit and grumble too much, who can't maintain an erection, or who have terrible memories or problems with sweaty feet.

There would be 'special opening offers' such as Goreans coming with a complete set of Gor books, free shipping on all African doms, subs and slaves, and perhaps a free dildo or riding crop with every sub.

Of course there would be a Home Delivery Service.

I could see a couple of sticky threads being very useful for fielding repeat questions like these. Either with FAQs or simply a page of links to past relevant topics for those with something against the search function.

I am still relatively new here, although have been lurking on and off for a while - but, does CM have something against stickies? They are a great way to get those FAQs answered without seeing a new thread about yet again the same topic pop up every week or two.

However, about the question, I think people assume that if you are a member that you are looking for someone. While a fair bunch obviously are, some use it only as a means of contacting friends, or posting on the forums etc. In that case profile information could serve only to prompt unwanted mail. If a profile has absolutely no positive message as to contacting them, I would ignore it and be forced to assume that they either weren't looking and were using their membership for other reasons as previously mentioned, or weren't going to be compatible with me.

That's it right there, I'm not looking. I'm under the impression that the lack of profile information cut's down on the spam but I'm not sure there's anything I can do to eliminate it entirely. Some people are very........persistent.

Generally, I've found trying to meet anyone through the profiles here to vary from being an exercise in frustration, to an exercise in futility, to occasional bright spots.  With those bright spots far and few.  I've had slighty better luck with people I've met either in the forums or the chatrooms... slightly.  Overall, I've learned not to expect much from this place other than discussions in the forums... and even that goes through periods of being disappointing.  All of which contributes to why I'm not on here nearly as much as I used to be.

Just as you get to go on and on about being drought resistant, whatever the hell that means, they get to do with their profile whatever they want.

I'm suprised you've had any unsolicited mail from women. Because that's highly unusual.

What you probably have had is mail from men with women's profiles who get off on pulling other people's chains.

I don't have a lot on my profile because I'm here for the forums and anyone who reads the boards regularly knows a great deal about who I am and where I stand. If they read my posts, that is.

Take it for what it is - a learning experience. If they can't be be bothered to answer, then obviously they're trolls. Or worse. Block and delete can be your best friend here. Sadly, as with any personals site, nilla or Lifestyle related, there are going to be players, losers, wannabes and trolls.

On the bright side, I know many couples that have met their partners successfully here on the CM forums. There are happy endings with patience and sometimes shock. I met Lumus here on the boards, not on the other side.

So ignore the crap and move on - there are a lot of great people here.
