I love that flawed, boyish vulnerability

Flawed, boyish vulnerability is quite hard to bring off, Davan.  Takes a lot more effort than women seem to realise.

Mickey Rourke in "9 1/2 Weeks"
James Spader in "Secretary"

I love that flawed, boyish vulnerability within a male who can take charge and ultimately 'mans up'.
This seems rare in real life, ime, but is well-represented in these characters.
Davan

<points to where it says Secretary doesn't count> -2 pts from the board for Davan!...Sorry I've had too much green tea and sleep. I should be in bed, but I am glowing in the dark and floating above the bed so why not post.

You see, I disagreed: it counts for me.  Lol!  :>

But, Peon, if it's an inherent part of them, ought it not be rather natural?  I don't want it to be a put-on!

I have though on this post and come up with 2

Sean Connery: As 007 and even in his later work (except for Indiana Jones) always a Dom

Adrian Paul : He was from the old Higlander TV show. Oh my when he fought with that sword. 100% Dom

Matt's littleone

Caissa -> RE: Your Fav Fictional Dom/Domme (7/30/2009 9:17:25 AM)

In general, I'd agree about Sean Connery in Last Crusade,  but there was that one scene where they were at that  crossroads arguing between going after the grail or after the journal, and depite Indy being the take charge sorta guy he is, Dr. Jones Sr. put his foot down and won out.  Something about that scene just made me go "damn" when I saw it.

You know Clarke Gable was notorious for having hideously bad breath, don't you?  Pop go about ten million female fantasies . . .

Melinda Clarke as Lady Heather in CSI! n well in general she's drop dead gorgeous so that doesn't hurt[8D]
I dont really remember any fictional dominants at all besides her n well angelina jolie didn't really do it for me in mr n mrs smith[8D]

sparkelfairy -> RE: Your Fav Fictional Dom/Domme (7/31/2009 1:20:24 PM)

Angelina Jolie was a Domme in one scene of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" that was pretty hot.

I kind of disagree. I mean, I LOVE Angelina Jolie and I LOVED that she played a dominant in that scene, but it wasn't really all that hot of a scene other than the fact that it was Angelina Jolie in black leather pretending to be a dominatrix. There really wasn't all that much to that scene other than the fact that it was Jolie.

I would agree with the previous assessment of Lucy Liu in Payback, and I don't meant the "he beat her/she beat him" scene they did but the one professional session she was doing where she literally scared the crap out of the poor submissive guy who was tied up. THAT was hot.

Send me an email Iron. I'll take this argument up.
Suffice to say that when Darcy got shot down, he went home to his mansion and pouted (OK,OK, he was nice to his servants. Like WTF? At least go home and put the maid in thumbscrews. Dom...sheesh)
Rhett, on the other hand, was "glad your husband died because it saved me from having to kill him to get you."

Darcy inherited his money. Rhett was a blockade runner risking life and limb.
Darcy goes to parties and whines. Rhett joined the army and fought at Franklin (which was an awful battle, just a slaughter)
Rhett's dangerous. Darcy's a wimp.
Darcy lets his wife boss him around. Rhett chases a woman who uses her beauty like a weapon and never ever lets her control him.
Hell, Darcy is played by Colin Firth-COLIN FIRTH for gods sake.
We all know who played Rhett Butler.

Darcy is in GWTW-His name is Ashley-smirks.

Sorry, Rhett would have kicked his ass ten times backwards on a bad day

Now c/mon. Ask yourself who would you rather kneel to.

neither in all honesty. [;)]

give me the man with presence that's well bred and knows what he wants but never ever chases his woman. men like that don't have to. his demeanor will bring me to him every time. the harder he is to capture, the greater my hunger for him. i love a challenge.
