How did we get this far without a shoutout for Mistress Denna from "Legend Of The Seeker?" The complexity of the character, the tenderness and the vulnerability that somehow amplify the relentless and insatiable cruelty rather than attenuating it... they just don't make women like that in real life, unfortunately.

Hmm... Darcy.... reallllllly? I mean, don't get me wrong, I am a total Jane Austenophile and Darcy is my favorite hero, but surely he is just that, a strong male regency heroic figure, not a Dom? I also think that the idea of a male Dominant is rather contrary to the ideals and philosophies (if one can go beyond social commentary and ascribe that to her) Austen sets out in her writings. She appreciates strength in a male character but repeatedly denies out and out dominance.

I think that they both fell into line, not just Lizzy... after all, he came to her in the end not the other way around.

As for delicious Dominants in literature... Le Vicomte de Valmont, in Les Liaisons Dangereuses does pop into my mind....though he is certainly not the sort I would allow myself to tangle with.

...and Petruchio, of course... who is also not really my sort, but great fun!

Ohhh yes Le Vicomte de Valmont!!!  You know that movie.... John Malkovich is not exactly a gorgeous man... That is when I realized that you didn't have to be handsome / beautiful to be sexy!

It is beyond my control....

I'll never forget the part where Hoggle is kneeling right in front of Bowie's extreme bulge in his tights. Even as a child, I found that scene somewhat uncomfortable. But yeah, the definite sexual tension between he and Sarah is pretty hot.

Purple Rain

Prince a Dom? Well after some reading about his preference in females today, I think he just might be for real. HOWEVER, more than a few scenes in PR have that BDSM tinge in them. Paricularly the scene where he catches Apollonia with Morris, and orders her on the back of his motorcycle, and drives her off to a secluded location. Once there she tries to cover her lacy little cami with her cape to which he says "Nuh uh", pulls it open again and gives her the most steamy dominating kiss...HAWT. Not hot was the slapping 3 min later...unless you're into that sort of thing..like a lot of us are...hmmmm. Bonus points for this movie are the lyrics to Sex Shooter AND more bonus points to whomever can find me a picture of the collar she wore during the Darling Nikki scene (or if someone knows of one comparable-silver collar with chains that attach to bracelets on each wrists, loosely-need to look stylish in public, only Sir and I need know the REAL reason I'm wearing them). I've been bugging sir about it ALL DAY. I want that collar AND the black dress she wore. HOT!!

-Mag

Oh, I love everything about that movie! I wanted to be Apollonia from the time I was 12 until I was, well, hmm yeah about now!

But for some of the most beautiful (and not so expensive as you might think) collars ever...try http://www.radiancebound.com/store.php.

Some of them are so gorgeous that even vanilla girls would like them. And other ones are so HOT that a vanilla girl might be willing to come to our side just to wear one!

**UPDATE** I just went to Radiance Bound and saw that they are closing. So sad! But here are some cool substitutes: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Holtlass__W0QQ_armrsZ1. Its not my store but its really cool! See what you think & let me know!

Verona from The Taming of the Shrew. Sure he's nuts but he knows how to mess with a girl's mind. Way more interesting than that overdramatic fetus Romeo.

LMFAO! Everytime I see that scene I laugh hysterically. I am personally a larger fan of the Dom that takes what he wants while he girl just melts in him (with a little fight that becomes subdued with a 'look' from the Dom. Y'know what I mean...).

I tried to think of others and my brain pretty much broke. I mean, aside from Bill and Eric from Trublood that was mentioned. And goodness...I wish Jason wasn't so dumb 'cause DAYUM! God. Pile all three of them on me and, well...*eyes Master* I mean, ew! Gross other guys! The vamp queen was mighty hot and I have a secret love affair/understanding with Maryann. Anyway, enough of my Trublood obsession..@w@

As for the Phantom - couldn't stand him.  He's a sociopath.

Oh, now I never said anyone SANE would get in a relationship with the dude willingly, but he sure was good at what he did... er... being a sociopath and all.

There's "Dangerous Liaisons" and the newer version "Cruel Intentions". The original one, not the sequels. Sebastian is a wonderful dom.

Rutger Hauer in Ladyhawk.

How about Jeremy Irons - Aramis in Man in the Iron Mask

Not that I would ever want to serve him (yuck) but Bobby Peru from Wild at Heart was a great character. I love the way he got Lula to say "fuck me." That is a great scene!

Melisandre from the first Kushiel trilogy from Jacqueline Carey. Cruel, alluring, and brilliant.

I was just watching the television show Jack and Bobby (great show, didn't run long enough)

The older brother, Jack.... You know he grew up to be a Dom... (He was in his mid 20's when he was playing a 15 year old, so I AM NOT a dirty old lady).  He was so in control, calm, saw things clearly, understood people and their motivations.... and had a good heart.  *I don't care what the story line says.
