I know people come and go here but this individual inferred some serious interest in me so I need to raise the question.

On Friday July 31sr 6 PM CST I was to chat with this CollarMe member on an outside messenger service. It is now Sunday August 2nd and I have not heard from him. Has anyone seen or heard from this person?

People disappear around here all the time. I think it is rather extreme to put his nick out there and tell the cm world all about his disappearance and your concern. If everyone did that... there would be no time for anything else on the boards.

I'm thinking that if he 'disappeared' it's probably for the most common reason of all.  There are a lot of them that go "poof" when they have no intention of follow through.

If I came back online after being away for just 48 hours, and saw a post like this about me - I think  I'd be a bit concerned.  It seems a bit obsessive to me.

(long pause) with the assumption there is a acceptable reason for him not being around ... what what point ought I (or anyone for that matter) express some "reasonable concern"?

Acceptability is relative. What may be a completely out-there explanation for you could be totally within the realm of possibility for him.

If you don't have his phone number... you weren't close enough to get so concerned that you would post about it. Hell if I did that, I could be here often. They are always serious until I let them know I am not having sex with them right away and won't spank them right away. Gone... into the night... my lost loves of my life... lol If he really cared... he would find someone to contact you if it was that bad. Bad news has a way of traveling real fast.

Either something unexpected came up or he changed his mind/was leading you on.

Worrying has never helped to find a resolution to any situation (easy to say, hard to do).

Live your life and go to plan B.

If he contacts you with a reasonable explanation and you choose to pursue discussions, I hope it works out.
If he doesn't contact you, realise it is his loss.

I think you read only half of my last post (you may even want ot go back to my original post). Let me say rephrase it for your. I have not heard back from him ... even IF I hear back from him ... there are several on this thread that believe that I have taken his silence out of context. Therefore I asked at what point should I (or anyone else) begin to show some concern about the silence ... absence? IF you had someone show adequate interest in you and they suddenly vanished; when would you begin to indicate some concern?

I am more interested in why you would ask. As you are not a newbie and know that sometimes someone will get scared and flake on you so either you are very pissed off at this person and want to 'disgrace' him, or you think you know, about a saturation in his real life that may be dangerous and you are truly concern. If the later all you can do is wait check his profile from time to time and see if he signs on (or delete it) if he does and does not contact you, let it go.

We agreed to meet at x time ... he did not show up and knowing his past behavior of being obsessive with me I found it odd that he did not show up ... and so after not seeing any sign of him I felt that concern was in order.

(an ounce of frustration) Maybe everyone here has forgotten what a good old fashioned dose of concern is?

I don't worry about them until I have their phone number and quite a bit down the road... months and/or after we have met. If something did happen... what could you do?

... and having someone's phone number ... directly relates in the level of seriousness two persons have for one another - I see that as a false assumption.

Bingo... you hit the nail on the head... you either have his number and can call and it is a more serious situation or you don't... which means you had no right to bring his name into it and start a thread. Patience man...

Okay, I re-read your post. You don't agree that things are more serious if you have their phone number. Still... you are panicking over something that happens every day to many, many people around here. But how serious can someone be with someone if they don't have personal contact numbers ect? He didn't show up... he either didn't want to or he was prevented from doing so. Now... if you are so serious about someone, I bet you get that number don't cha?

You still went to the extreme in your concern.
