SteelofUtah -> RE: Metal worker advice wanted (8/17/2009 2:25:41 PM)

I turned her onto a Commercial company who does industrial cages in the UK. I was not sure if they could help her or not. I know that to make it in the states and then Crate the thing to her it would be expensive and the elaborate work that she wanted would make the job difficult even for a seasoned metal worker. To Clearify: Thank you DarkSteven, I appreciate you sending her to me as I like being able to help people and I did do everything I could to help her, it should be known that my Metal Working Knowledge is rather low believe it or not. The Resident name was given in the Resident Thread and I am no Metalurgist just a play on words because of my name. I am Giften with knowledge of Landscaping, Erecting of Steel Buildings, Minimal Welding Experience and cannot arc weld to same my life. I know more about wood then I do Metal actually but Wood is a silly name for Dom I think. I am an EXPERT in Googleing Information and this is how I was able to help our friend here and I hope that she got all the costs involved with what she was wanting. In the end it should be known that for a SERIOUS STEEL CAGE if you want the person to be able to move around you START at $2000.00 and then work up from there. For a Prison Style Cage you are looking at $9,000.00 for something Cheap and up to $30,000 for a Build In Professional Zoological Cage with Locking Gate. and that is still for minimal room they could lay down in the fetal position but not quite in a full laying down. for a full deal prison cell build in expect to pay heavily for a 4 sided cage you can gut down on that by building into existing walls.
