nobleslave -> Please may i ask this question (8/4/2009 4:31:30 PM)

Hello  I am an unowned slave in search to find my one true Mistress. May i ask please would it help me if i wore cloths that showed i was a slave out and about like a pvc shirt and jeans and a leather cuff or some things. So it would show to people that i am a slave and would be easier for me to find my one true Mistress. Or are they not slave cloths if they aren't would you know what to wear so it would show to people in the street or in clubs i am a slave. I would not wear this in work but when i am out and about or in clubs ect

There are no "slave clothes" necessarily that will show you are an unowned slave. Cuffs and collars usually mean someone is taken and wearing something an owner put on them. Other than that, PVC clothing only means you have a PVC fetish, not that you are a slave. Why not try going to munchs and other lifestyle focused events that are made as meet and greets where you can simply tell someone you are a submissive type, rather than hoping they catch on to some very subtle and easily misunderstood hint?

Noble, it isn't about what you wear.  It's about what's in your heart.

Thank you so very much for your replies.

Yes you are so right. I was just sitting here wondering if it might help me but once i read what you wrote and i was like of course.

May i please also ask i wear a choke collar. Do you think people would think oh he is an owned slave.

I would say wearing a choke collar suggests ownership. Dont forget many in the lifestyle prefer to keep it low key and not have public displays of dominance and submission. Certain attire, while okay at a club, might not go down to well with potential owners in the mall.

Before i became Ma'am's slave, when i was heavily involved in the local BDSM community, i sometimes wore collars to BDSM events.  Once, while talking with a Domina about doing a scene, She grabbed my collar, a doggie type choke chain, and asked me, "Whose collar is this?"

my reply was, "Tonight, it's Yours, Ma'am."

That worked.

nobleslave,
It isn't the clothing that makes a slave. It isn't the clothing that makes the Dominant. It is what is inside of you and believe it or not, we (Or at least *I*) recognize this even from afar. Wearing a choker or collar would suggest to me that you are an owned slave. Just be yourself nobleslave, and the rest will come. I wish you well on your journey and hope you find your One.

I have to agree here.  I am a very private person, and don't publicly display evidence of what I do behind closed doors.  If I saw someone who so overtly showed their submission, I would be convinced that he and I would not be compatible, simply for the public display, and would not be interesting in getting to know him.

No, I'd think you were goth or emo or punk, actually.  Same goes if you were in fetish gear, except that I'd also think you were a drama queen, an attention whore or just a complete idiot for wearing that stuff in public outside of a fetish club or BDSM event.   Poseurs and drama-addicted teenagers like to wear "shocking" clothes to shopping malls to try to get attention; it doesn't mean they're actually into kink.   I avoid poseurs; they are annoying as fuck.

A subtle and elegant chain necklace, non-attention-whorish, with no "shock value" such as the poseur crowd likes, might be a hint, along with a very polite and eager to please attitude.  Think "butler" or "majordomo", gracefully and courteously being of service to those around you.

I think that getting comfortable in your own skin and with your own orientation and not trying to fill a role so much as be who you are will allow you to wear whatever you choose with confidence.
Best wishes,
  Davan
