article is here.  Freaks me out because it reminds me of someone who used to post here.  Is it a red flag for you when you meet someone on here who does not have friends or relationships, or is not involved in the community in some way? Is that community involvement important?  How do you all decide who to meet and who not?

pahunkboy -> RE: 4 shot in PA gym (8/5/2009 1:02:56 PM)

The G-20 is to meet in Pittsburgh Sept 24th ish.

LadyPact -> RE: 4 shot in PA gym (8/5/2009 1:57:31 PM)

Sad story.  I always hate hearing about these things because it's such a waste of life.

As for the additional questions, I wouldn't call it exactly a red flag, but I am much more likely to meet someone if they are involved in the community.  If nothing else, it gives Me the opportunity to meet them at a BDSM related event.  I'm also the type that is going to play with someone publicly before playing with them privately.  It's part of the stages that I go through when getting to know someone new.  So far, the method has worked for Me.

No it's not a red flag for me.

I'm not a real social person. I have friends but not tons and I don't do the whole "community" thing but I am content with my life and I like to be alone a lot of times.

What IS a redflag for me is someone who is bitter and angry over the fact that they don't have friends, have been turned down by others, over past relationships, failed parts of their lives, etc...

It's their attitude and demeanor that is the factor.

Amen to all that, littlewonder. I couldn't agree more. It's not a "red flag" for me if people have CHOSEN to not be social or a part of the "community." It's when it has just kind of happened to them and they're full of vitriol and rage over it that it's time to worry. Not everyone wishes to be a social butterfly and that's very much OK. Different strokes and all that jazz.....luci

How does this, in any way whatsoever, pertain to the article in the OP?

There was four dead, 15 others injured. Apparently it was over some woman... that part is being questioned. this man apparentlty worked in the building where Master works. It was an emotional shooting, he apparently liked a woman who didnt return his feelings. this could happen from someone at church, school, work, a club, ect. to stop living because of a possibility is silly.

Because Pittsburgh is too close to Detroit and Cleveland and the location for a G-20 meeting there is a bad idea. Factor in- that there are always protests when they have those meetings and locating it near an area with a poor job base is a mistake.

Crime in general goes up in hard times- a crazy guy is always going off somewhere.   The health club aspect of it is new.   But in a way the TV attention is a dis-service- as the notoriety of it is trivial, and no one will think much of it a few weeks later.

There will be other nuts- and they  will be everywhere.   (unfortunately)

Actually, Obama happens to enjoy Pittsburgh. The Job base here isnt as bad as you make it sound. for the most part its quiet, but there will always be a nut case.

I find it interestingly freaky that the topic on the women sticking the guys wang to his thighs has garnered more thoughts and posts than this thread.
Must be because (as stella mentioned it) it doesnt include a penis.....???????
Lucy
my heart goes out to the women and the  famlies of the people involved.

I hate to say this but I think its because men killing women is now a boring subject for most people. You read it everyday in the newspaper about how some antisocial despot without a girlfriend goes over the deep end and starts shooting people. It is a horrible thing but all too common place anymore.

In the other news about the guy getting his wang glued, women do not usually do such things and I think that is what has grabbed peoples attention. These women felt used, betrayed and took matters into their own hands, something you do not hear very often. So people are mesmerized by it and respond to it more.

I do not think either was right, these are horrible crimes that should never have been committed but unfortunately they do happen.

Why did this thread die?

Cant you see how insignificant it is?

No one cares about this type of thing.  It is all fuel for bread and circuses.
